Résidences de l'Avent - neimënster 2026

A five-week research, creation, and setup residency at neimënster in Luxembourg, followed by public presentations during the Advent weekends from 29 November to 20 December 2026.

Eligibility

• Projects are accepted from all artistic disciplines, including visual arts, performance, music, theatre, dance, and literature.

• The project must be created in a studio in the Robert Bruch building. The studios are approximately 40 square metres with a maximum ceiling height of 3 metres.

• Projects should preferably relate to traditions, folklore, or winter-themed tales.

Application / Project Requirements

• Cover letter and project description.

• Preliminary project budget covering materials, technical costs, installation, and other relevant expenses.

• Portfolio of previous projects and a resume.

• The official call states that products emitting microparticles, such as aerosol cans, are not permitted in the workshops.

Funding / Support / Benefits

• Four-week research residency plus a one-week setup period from November to December 2026.

• Residency grant of EUR 4,000 per project plus EUR 1,000 for the setup week.

• A 40-square-metre studio and housing if required.

• A production budget tailored to the selected project's needs, based on the budget submitted with the application.

• Logistical and technical support during installation and visibility through neimënster's communication channels.

Additional Conditions Stated by the Organizer

• Public performances or presentations may take place on 29-30 November, 5-6 December, 12-13 December, and/or 19-20 December 2026.

• The official evaluation criteria are originality and innovation, technical feasibility and workshop constraints, and alignment with neimënster's values.
