Aion Digital Art Prize
2nd Aion Digital Art Prize · 2026–2027
An international competition for digital art, media art and artistic work with technology, organized by Aion Laboratory, a division of Ise-Shima Art Company. We welcome individual and collaborative works that explore the expressive possibilities of digital media.
Dates, entry fee and awards
Applications: 1 April 2026–1 March 2027. Deadline: 1 March 2027, 23:59 GMT. Entry fee: JPY 3,000 per work, non-refundable. Pay by credit card or PayPal after submitting the application form.
One Grand Prize: JPY 50,000 and a printed certificate. Up to 35 Aion Digital Art Prizes: certificates. Results will be announced by email and on the official website on 5 May 2027. Printed certificates will be dispatched within two months of the results announcement.
Who can apply and what can be submitted?
Artists of any nationality and age may apply. Submit your own work; collaborative work is accepted. Previously exhibited or awarded works are eligible. Multiple entries are welcome, with a separate form and fee for each work.
Eligible practices include computer art, electronic art, digital installations, interactive systems, multimedia, video art, animation, sound art, music, AR, VR and other new media practices. These examples do not limit the range of eligible digital and media art.
Accepted formats include PDF and DOCX for text-based works; JPEG, PNG and TIFF for images; MP4, AVI and MOV for video; and MP3 and WAV for audio. A ZIP archive may contain several files.
AI and the artist’s creative contribution
AI-assisted work may be submitted, but works made solely by AI are not accepted. If you use AI, explain how it was used in the application form, alongside your description of the work.
How to apply
Upload your work to a file-hosting or media-sharing service such as Google Drive, Dropbox, SoundCloud, YouTube, Youku or Vimeo. Submit the link and work description through the Ise-Shima Art Company application form, then complete payment. Keep the work accessible to the judges until the results are announced.
For collaborative work, separate the creators’ names with a slash (/). Check your name, email and certificate delivery address carefully. Allow messages from info@iseshimaart.com. Submitted works cannot be revised or replaced.
Judging and rights
Aion Laboratory members judge the entries. They consider originality, individuality and new possibilities for digital art, together with the technical ability to realize those ideas. A member cannot judge an entry by someone closely connected to them, including a student or relative.
Applicants retain copyright. Entering grants the organizer permission to introduce, share and exhibit the work on its website and in promotional materials. If you receive an award, any social media or website URLs entered in the form will be published; leave those fields blank if you do not want them made public.
