Aperio Gallery Body & Beyond 2026: Free Global Art Call, €15 Fee Only If Selected
Aperio Gallery is accepting worldwide applications for its curated online exhibition 'Body & Beyond', an invitation to think about the physical and psychological boundaries of the human body. Submission is free for artists aged 18 and over, and the application deadline is 15 November 2026. This is a digital gallery exhibition and potential sales opportunity rather than a funded artist residency, guaranteed commission or cash-prize competition.
Concept, media and applicants
The programme invites interpretations of how the body is experienced from within and represented from outside: personal identity, anatomy, movement, perception, vulnerability and relations with the surrounding world all fit the brief. Aperio explicitly accepts painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, textile art and mixed media. Moving-image applicants are told to provide a work link, but should confirm whether a video work can be displayed and sold in the same way as other media.
Artists from any country may submit up to three original pieces. All submissions must be available for sale, which distinguishes this from a nonprofit research residency or an exhibition of work that is legally unavailable for purchase. Each entry should contain a good-quality image, title, medium, dimensions, year and asking price, along with a brief artist biography and a short artist statement.
Free application; €15 if selected; 20% commission on actual sales
There is no charge at the application stage, and unsuccessful candidates do not owe the gallery a fee. Selected artists are asked to pay a €15 exhibition participation fee. This is a condition of taking up the exhibition offer, not money paid to the artist and not a jury application fee. Creators should read the withdrawal and refund policy before accepting an invitation.
Works included in the gallery are also presented for purchase. Aperio takes a 20% commission on the sale price if an artwork sells; the artist receives the remaining amount before their own applicable taxes, packing or transport costs. Selected artists are responsible for packing and shipping sold works. Inclusion therefore offers visibility and a retail possibility, not guaranteed income.
Dates and a small discrepancy on the gallery page
The official dates section lists 15 November 2026 for applications, 20 November for selected-artist notification and an online exhibition from 30 November 2026 through 10 January 2027. Elsewhere in the introduction a different November start date appears, apparently carried over from an earlier layout. Applicants who need an exact opening date for promotion should confirm it with Aperio rather than relying on the inconsistent banner wording.
Selected artworks will be included in the digital exhibition catalogue and advertised on the gallery's channels. The organisers may consider a particularly strong artist for a future solo online exhibition, but this possibility is discretionary. Artists who are not chosen may not receive an individual rejection notification.

Artists retain copyright and ownership of the works until sold, subject to permissions needed to display and publicise the exhibitions.
