Eligible practices and experience
Art Explora Foundation and the Cité internationale des arts are accepting 2027 applications from visual, digital, media and performing artists and researchers worldwide. Around twenty residents join the programme each year to research and produce work in Montmartre, Paris. Nationality and age are unrestricted, but candidates must demonstrate at least five years of professional artistic activity and an international track record of exhibitions or presentations.
Residency funding and duration
The SOLO programme offers an individual artist a three- or six-month residency; COLLECTIVE offers three months for collaborative projects involving artists, researchers or curators. Support includes a furnished live-in studio of approximately 50 square metres, a €1,000 monthly living allowance for the artist, up to €3,000 in production support subject to receipts and project conditions, and a return journey to Paris. Collective grants and housing do not automatically cover every collaborator equally: check the detailed distribution for your proposed team.

Applying is free, and the official platform closes **October 30, 2026 at 11:59pm Paris time**. The application must be in English and include a maximum two-page project proposal explaining why Paris is relevant, a portfolio up to fifteen pages, a CV of up to two pages, and a description of audience engagement or workshops within 1,500 characters. Art-and-science connections, ecology, new technologies and social concerns are welcome. Results are expected in January 2027 for the March–August session and in June for the September–February session. Once finally submitted, the form cannot be edited.
