The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum Artist in Residence Program invites artists to live and work in Fukuoka for a set period, providing opportunities to create, present, and exchange artistic practices within an international and local context. The program emphasizes artistic exchange with local citizens, deeper understanding of Asian contemporary art and cultures, and the development of international networks connecting artists and institutions across Asia.

FAAM positions the residency as an interactive platform for Asian art, fostering collaboration, dialogue, and long-term cultural exchange rooted in Fukuoka City.

  3. Upload supplemental materials, including:

    • Digital images of artworks from the last 5 years (up to 10 images / 5 works)

    • Links to video works (no direct video uploads)

    • Applicant portrait

    • Total file size must not exceed 20MB

This residency is well suited for artists interested in international exchange, community engagement, and contemporary Asian art contexts.
