Canada Council Artistic Creation grants for Canadian digital and media artists
Overview
Artistic Creation is a funding opportunity in the Canada Council for the Arts’ Explore and Create program. It supports Canadian artists, artistic groups and arts organizations as they research, develop, create and share work, from an initial idea through public presentation. The Canada Council’s recognized fields include Digital Arts, Media Arts and Visual Arts, making the opportunity relevant to eligible digital and media art practices. This is a grant program, not an employment offer.
Eligibility
An applicant must have an approved Canada Council profile before submitting an application. For the individual artist profile, the official criteria require an applicant to be a Canadian citizen, First Nations, Inuit or Métis, a Canadian permanent resident, or a protected person under Canadian law, as well as meeting the professional-practice requirements. Groups and organizations have their own profile criteria. Applicants should select the profile and artistic field that accurately describe their practice.
Deadline and application
The official deadline listing states that Artistic Creation applications may be submitted at any time before the start date of the project or activity. Applicants should confirm the current eligible activities, expenses, assessment criteria and required materials on the program page, then apply through the Canada Council portal. Do not begin the proposed activity before checking the current rules.
