Canada Kids Film Festival 2027: Free International Animation and Children's Film Submissions

Canada Kids Film Festival invites filmmakers from Canada and around the world to submit work for 2027. It welcomes films for children, about children or made by children, including animation, documentary, shorts, feature films and series. International participation is encouraged, but the children's theme or intended audience matters: an unrelated general-audience film is not automatically suitable.

Opportunity and eligibility

The four competitive sections are National, International, Indigenous and Made by Kids, each with its own nominees and winners. Entrants should check category-specific eligibility based on production location and creators. Apply by creating a free account on the festival website, then selecting Submit a film. You can save an incomplete entry and return later to add credits, screening information and permissions. Selections are scheduled to be announced July 20, 2027.

Deadline and entry process

The organiser explicitly confirms no submission charge in any category or at any deadline. The early deadline is February 15, regular March 15, and final deadline May 31, 2027. The festival runs September 24–October 3, 2027. The announcement does not guarantee a cash award or screening fee for every selected film. Confirm parent or guardian consent for young participants, likeness permissions and licenses for music, graphics and footage.
