Canadian Screen Awards 2027: Film, Television and Digital Media Entries Close Oct 26
The Canadian Screen Awards 2027 accept eligible film, television and digital-media entries through October 26, 2026. Academy entry rules and fees apply.
Awards entry window
The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is accepting entries for the 2027 Canadian Screen Awards, which recognize Canadian screen work across film, television and digital media. The official submission window opened September 23, 2026; the final deadline for entries and video content is Monday, October 26, 2026.
Eligibility differs by screen sector
Television and digital media projects, excluding news and sports, have a stated qualifying period of September 1, 2025 through November 15, 2026. News and sports use September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026. For film the period runs January 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027. Entrants must follow the relevant 2027 category rules and Canadian-content criteria; this is not an unrestricted call for all worldwide digital artists.
Submission process and costs
Register or log into the Academy's official submission portal to prepare an entry. The Academy requires a non-refundable C$130 deposit per submission at entry, with the remaining fee billed after eligibility review; total fees vary by category, date and membership status, and taxes may apply. Some exceptions or subsidies are covered in the official rules.
Why this matters for media creators
Digital-media producers, film teams and animation or screen-based creators working within the eligible Academy categories can use the awards as a professional showcase. Check category definitions and content eligibility carefully before paying; the October 9 early-bird date has already passed.
Organizer and authoritative guidance
The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television organizes the Canadian Screen Awards and publishes separate 2027 rulebooks for film and for television/digital media. The official rules page links the entry portal, eligibility documents, deadline and fee policy. It also lists an Academy awards contact address for questions.
