Public art commission for a suspended artwork at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

Deadline: Stage 1 application acceptance period: 15 June 2026 - 16 July 2026.

Application Fee / Participation Fee: No application fee is stated on the official call page.

Eligibility: Professional artists or artist teams. Artists or teams may be based anywhere in the world. The official FAQ states that C1 is open to U.S. and non-U.S. residents.

Application / Qualification Requirements: Stage One requires an artistic statement and biography with a combined 500-word limit, a 500-word letter of interest, a professional resume or CV with a 2-page limit per team member, a portfolio of up to six past projects, and two professional or educational references.

Prize / Benefits / Support: Artwork budget: 625,000-725,000 USD. The official page states that the budget is inclusive of artist fees, insurance, travel, fabrication, design, engineering, testing, shipping, anchoring structure, installation, one-year maintenance, airport security badging, and contingency. Shortlisted artists or teams submitting a complete concept package receive a 3,500 USD fee.

Conditions / Notes: The official terms state that DFW Airport will retain title ownership and that copyright will become property of DFW Airport. The selected artist must have a minimum of 1 million USD in general liability insurance during design development, fabrication, and installation phases.
