European Media Art Platform EMAP Residencies 2027 Fund Digital and Bio Art Collaborations
Purpose and artistic scope
The European Media Art Platform (EMAP) has opened its 2027 call for two-month media-art production residencies at one of 15 European organizations. Practices include digital and immersive art, interactive installation, media art, robotics and bio art. Each proposal must involve a collaboration, but applicants are allowed to find a collaborator after applying, including through their eventual host.
Eligibility and submission
This is a geographically restricted programme, not a worldwide open call. Applicants must reside in or pay taxes in an EU Member State or another non-EU country eligible under the Creative Europe programme. Applicants should verify current eligible-country status in the programme rules. Undergraduate and master's students cannot apply; PhD candidates and other eligible artists may, regardless of age.
Project or programme rules
Submit exclusively through EMAP's official online registration system. An initial project description or concept, CV, audiovisual portfolio documentation and host preferences are required. Applications may list more than one project and can be edited before the submission deadline. A collaborating partner need not already be confirmed when the application is sent.
Deadlines, funding and implementation
The deadline is November 6, 2026 at 14:00 CET. A selected artist receives a €4,000 grant; a collaborator is supported with €2,000, or artist duos can receive €6,000 in total. The project additionally has a €4,000 production budget, and the host provides accommodation and eligible travel support within EU ceilings. The residency also offers technical facilities, international networking and public presentation. These sums are restricted to selected proposals and have different designated purposes.
