Experimental Photo Festival Barcelona 2027: Worldwide Photo-Art Exhibitions, €20 Entry by November 7
Open call and eligibility
The eighth Experimental Photo Festival in Barcelona, organised by the Experimentalphotofestival Association, is inviting international photographers, visual artists and collectives for exhibitions during 21–25 July 2027. Eligible practices encompass analogue and alternative processes, digital and expanded photography, installations, video, sound, performance and interdisciplinary visual work. There is no set theme, nationality restriction or professional-experience requirement. Previously exhibited or awarded projects, work in progress and concepts needing adaptation to a new venue can be submitted.
Entry dates and application cost
Applications are accepted exclusively through the organiser's Picter entry system between 12 October and 7 November 2026, closing at 11:59 p.m. CET. Each project costs €20 to submit, nonrefundable; submitting multiple projects means paying separately for each. Up to ten images can accompany a project description, biography, artist portrait and technical or installation notes. Email submissions are not accepted. Once an application is sent, its documentation cannot be changed.
Exhibition fees and selections
Selection includes twelve solo exhibitions, additional places in a collective show, and twenty online features with Analog Forever Magazine. A selected solo exhibitor receives a €150 artist fee plus access to a festival-administered production budget of up to €200 for approved exhibition expenses. That €200 is not unrestricted money or an automatic reimbursement, and a valid invoice is required to receive the artist fee. Access to a diploma programme advertised as worth €999 is an in-kind educational benefit, not a cash award.
Travel responsibilities and legal licence
Selected exhibitors are expected to be physically in Barcelona for installation, the exhibition and dismantling. Flight, accommodation and shipment costs are generally their responsibility; priority accommodation access does not mean a free hotel. Copyright remains with artists, but submitted materials carry a broad worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive licence for festival-related promotion, educational and certain commercial activities. Check carefully before paying. Full organiser rules: https://site.picter.com/experimental-photo-festival-2027-barcelona/terms . Always confirm eligibility, fees and rights with the original organiser before applying.
