Eyebeam AGENCY NYC Residency 2027: $5,000 Support for New York City Artists
Eyebeam is accepting applications for its Spring 2027 AGENCY NYC Residency. Six New York City artists will be selected to develop a new project or idea on the theme of agency, social systems and technology. AI may be one subject or tool, but using AI is not a condition of entry.
NYC-only eligibility
Applicants must live within New York City's five boroughs and be able to work on site at Eyebeam at least one day every week throughout the residency. A minimum of eight in-person hours per week is required in addition to independent project development.
Applications are accepted from individuals only, not collectives or collaborative groups. Applicants cannot be enrolled in a full-time degree programme or committed to another residency during the same term. This is a New York City-resident-only opportunity rather than an international open call.
Funding and residency programme
Six residents will each receive a US$5,000 stipend. The 12-week programme includes weekly cohort meetings, mentorship with visiting professionals and Eyebeam alumni, technical consultation, an open studio, a final process presentation and contributions to an end-of-year publication.
The residency runs from March 15 to June 11, 2027. Applicant interviews are scheduled for December 7–10, 2026, and selection notifications for December 14.
Application deadline and method
Applications are free and are submitted through the official Submittable portal. The deadline is Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST); late entries are not accepted. The official application page includes eligibility confirmation and a link to the materials guide. The separate Fall 2026 Virtual Residency is a different programme with a different deadline.
