KinoSaito 2026 Community Art Benefit: Hudson Valley Artists Apply by November 11
A local exhibition opportunity in the Hudson Valley
KinoSaito, the arts centre in Verplanck, New York, has opened submissions for its 2026 Community Art Benefit. The call is for artists at any career stage working across artistic media, and the application deadline is 11 November 2026. Selected work will appear in a year-end group exhibition running from 11 to 20 December 2026, with an opening reception planned for 12 December.
This is a particularly practical opportunity for artists who can make, present and sell a finished physical work. Photographers and digital-image artists may find it relevant where their work can be supplied as a display-ready print or object; the organiser says all mediums may be considered, not that digital files alone count as exhibition-ready artwork.
Eligibility: commuting distance really matters
Although the call welcomes artists from the Hudson Valley and beyond, there is a firm logistical restriction: accepted artists must be able to deliver their own artwork to KinoSaito and collect any unsold work afterward. For that reason, applications are limited to artists who live within commuting distance of 115 7th Street, Verplanck, NY 10596.
The opportunity is not a virtual exhibition or a remote international competition. Applicants outside a feasible commuting area should not apply on the assumption that the venue can receive and return work by shipping.
What can be submitted?
Artists may submit images and information for up to two works, but only one piece per artist can be selected. Accepted artwork must measure no more than 36 inches in any direction, be ready to hang or display, and be offered for sale at a price of no more than US$3,000.
This is both an exhibition and a fundraising sale. If work sells, the artist retains 50% of the sale price while the other 50% is donated to KinoSaito. Sales are encouraged but are not guaranteed. There is no application fee; the organiser suggests an optional US$10 donation.
Key dates and application checklist
Applications close 11 November 2026. The organiser plans to notify selected artists on 29 November. Artwork delivery windows are 5–7 December, and the exhibition is scheduled for 11–20 December. Unsold work is to be collected during the specified windows on 20–22 December.
The application calls for one high-resolution JPEG or TIFF image for each work, with the required filename format; the artist's contact information; title, year, materials, dimensions and sale price for each work; and a brief biography or artist statement of no more than 250 words in PDF format. A website or social profile may be supplied when available.
Before submitting, check that your proposed print, photograph, or other work can meet the display, dimension, transport and sale requirements. Digital-arts applicants should plan the physical presentation rather than assuming an unprinted file or screen-based proposal qualifies.
