Kinosaki International Arts Center invites artists and projects for its 2027/2028 artist-in-residence program, with a focus on contemporary artistic activities and performing arts, and with research-based art projects also included in the eligible scope.

Application Fee / Participation Fee: No application fee is stated on the official page. Accepted artists must pay 350 yen per person per day to Toyooka City for utilities.
Eligibility: Eligible projects include performing arts, research-based art projects, and study groups, symposiums, or lectures by art professionals. Individual artists or groups can stay at KIAC for a minimum of seven days and a maximum of three months. Artists must be able to speak and understand basic Japanese or English, or hire an interpreter at their own expense.
Project / Submission Requirements: Applicants download the application form, fill it out, and send it by email. The program covers projects where feasibility is ensured, including production or implementation system, budget plan, activity scale, schedule, and progress management.
Support / Benefits: KIAC provides free use of the hall and studios, free use of residence space up to seven rooms, and technical staff and coordinators to support creation and research.

Additional Conditions Stated by Organizer: Applicants must cover personnel expenses, transportation to Kinosaki, travel and living expenses, and production costs. Artists are expected to take part in the Community Exchange Program. When presenting a work created at KIAC, artists must credit Kinosaki International Arts Center (Toyooka City) on promotional materials.
