Eligibility
Emerging artists or researchers active in performing arts who have a clear reason for staying in Kyoto for production or research. Participants must be able to plan and implement public exchange projects and communicate in English or Japanese.
Application / Project Requirements
Application materials must be written in Japanese or English and submitted as PDF files. Required materials are the application sheet, a one-page CV, and a portfolio of up to five pages.
Prize / Benefits
Support includes accommodation for up to three months, a studio at Kyoto Art Center, round-trip economy airfare from the applicant’s residential area to Kansai International Airport or Osaka International Airport, a production subsidy of 200,000 JPY, public-relations cooperation, and assistance by art coordinators.

Additional official information
The residency period must fall within either 1 May-31 August 2027 or 1 November 2027-29 February 2028. The selected artist or group is required to submit a report after the residency.
