MonoVisions Photography Awards 2027: Global Black-and-White Photography, $3,000 Series Prize
About the global photography award
MonoVisions Photography Awards 2027 is an international call for photographers aged 18 or older, welcoming both amateur and professional practice from all countries. The contest is exclusively for black-and-white photography, whether shot on film or with digital equipment. Entries are divided into a Single Image section and a Series section of two to eight related photographs. Twelve genre categories include conceptual, architecture, landscape, portrait, street, fine art and photojournalism. Sepia and other toned monochrome images are expressly permitted.
Fees and important dates
The early submission deadline is January 17, 2027: $20 for a Single Image or $25 for a Series. Final applications close May 16, 2027, with fees of $25 and $30 respectively. Submitting the same entry in an additional thematic category costs another $10 per category. Winners are scheduled to be announced July 25. Entries are processed online only; mailed exhibition prints are not accepted at the application stage.
Technical rules and entry eligibility
Images must be JPEG/JPG and 1,200 pixels along the longest side, without signatures, logos or watermarks. Digital adjustments and black-and-white conversions of colour originals are accepted, as are previously published photographs and works awarded in another competition. A Series must contain two to eight images sharing a cohesive idea. Shortlisted creators may be asked for higher-resolution originals after an initial selection round.
