MOVIDA Labs on Dance and Technology

European labs for duos of dance artists and creative technologists.

Eligibility: Applications are for duos only. Both applicants must be resident in Europe, either in an EU country or in a Creative Europe eligible country. Duos must demonstrate capabilities in developing and integrating technology in dance practice, particularly computational creativity and/or audience interaction.

Application / Project Requirements: Requested materials are an artist statement PDF of maximum 2 A4 pages, CVs of both applicants, and a link to the website or online portfolio, including videos, of each applicant. The artist statement should address the chosen lab theme.

Prize / Benefits / Support: Four 9-day labs will take place between December 2026 and February 2027 in Romania, Estonia, Germany, and Portugal. The official page lists travel and accommodation, a fee of 1,200 EUR for each of the two artists, production budget up to 500 EUR for the duo, possible additional needs coverage by agreement, masterclasses, studio access, equipment and personnel, documentation, networking, and fast-track for MOVIDA 2-month residencies in 2027-2028.

Conditions / Notes: The official FAQ states that solo artists cannot apply; applicants must apply as a duo. Each application is limited to one lab.
