Napoli AI Film Festival 2027: Global Generative Cinema and Music Video Call, Entry from $8
Opportunity and eligibility
Napoli AI Film Festival is an inaugural gathering for generative-AI short cinema in Naples, Italy, with an event scheduled for January 29, 2027. Presented by Creative Tech for Humanity, the festival invites films from worldwide creators in four categories: Narrative Short Movie, Commercial/Advertising, Music Video and Naples-Inspired Film. The Naples category is not geographically restricted: a filmmaker may reinterpret the city's culture, history or identity without physically filming there.
How to submit and specifications
Apply through the festival's FilmFreeway page, documenting the tools and models that meaningfully contributed to the film. Generative imagery, animation, sound, voice, music and VFX can count when central to the workflow. English subtitles are required for non-English dialogue. Makers must clear rights to all music, footage, performers, images and simulated likenesses. The organisers describe a six-person jury with audience voting counting as one additional jury vote.
Deadlines, fees and rights
The early deadline is November 20, 2026, with ordinary entry costing US$8 per category (FilmFreeway Gold $5). The standard deadline is December 20 at US$10 (Gold $6), and the final deadline is January 10, 2027 at US$12 (Gold $8). Fees are non-refundable. Notification is scheduled for January 20. Winners receive screening, festival recognition and certificates; the call does not guarantee a fixed cash prize. Travel and accommodation are not included unless specifically arranged. Screening and non-commercial promotional use of selected film material require permission under the rules.
