Next Art Tainan Award 2027

A Tainan City Government award and gallery-exhibition programme for young artists, designed to select approximately ten individual or group recipients and connect their work with professional galleries in Tainan.

Eligibility

• Applicants must have been born in or after January 1986 and must not have an exclusive gallery representation contract.

• Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of China (Taiwan), or hold an ROC residence permit or other legal residence right.

• Individual and group applications are accepted. Every group member must meet the eligibility rules.

Application / Project Requirements

• Online application only.

• Personal details, education, exhibition history, award history, and identification documents.

• Declaration confirming that the applicant has no exclusive gallery representation contract.

• One principal work and two reference works, with title, medium, dimensions, year, and a statement of up to 200 Chinese characters.

• Accepted administrative categories are two-dimensional, three-dimensional, video, and installation. The official guide gives detailed file-size, resolution, duration, and format requirements for each category.

Funding / Support / Benefits

• Approximately ten recipients are scheduled to be selected.

• Exhibition in professional gallery spaces in Tainan.

• Approximately three recipients may be arranged to participate in one domestic or international art fair.

• Each recipient receives an exhibition-activity fee of NT$70,000 after submission of the required results report and receipt.

• Marketing support, printed promotional materials, press conference, award ceremony, and exhibition catalogue.

• Apply through the online system linked from the official Next Art Tainan website.

• The official schedule lists September 2026 as the tentative result-announcement period.

Additional Conditions Stated by the Organizer

• Recipients are responsible for transportation of artworks, installation, de-installation, and related travel and accommodation; the organizer does not provide additional payment for these items.

• All exhibited works must be available for sale. Prices are negotiated with the matched gallery.

• For art-fair transactions, the official guide states that 50 percent of sales income goes to the gallery and 50 percent to the artist.

• The tentative gallery exhibition period is 11 March-11 April 2027.
