PARMA 360 AI Horizons 2027: Free Global AI Art Call Under 35, €6,000 Prizes and Work-Acquisition Terms
Worldwide AI art call and age eligibility
PARMA 360 Festival, promoted by Italian cultural association 360° Creativity Events APS, invites AI and emerging-technology artists worldwide to its 2027 exhibition AI Horizons – Art Beyond Algorithms. Applicants must **not have reached their 35th birthday by 15 November 2026**. Eligible forms include generative imagery, digital photography, video, VR/AR, interactive installations, software and sound art, performance and hybrid media. Twenty finalists will be exhibited in Parma during the festival's eleventh edition in April–May 2027, curated by Chiara Canali. At least three finalist slots are allocated to deserving artists based in Parma city and province.
Free entry, deadlines and media
Entry is **free**, limited to one application per artist, with the final deadline midnight 15 November 2026 in the Rome time zone. Applicants choose or address the competition's three main themes: Parma Heritage, which interprets local cultural memory; Care, examining access, inclusion and AI ethics; or Data Sustainability and Ecology, interrogating the energy, infrastructure and environmental cost of computation. Work must be finished by the date of entry but does not need to be unpublished. Submit images in JPG or PNG, maximum five per work and 1 MB each; videos in MP4/MOV up to 10 MB or provide Vimeo/YouTube/Drive links for larger files.
Mandatory AI workflow statement
A mandatory **Artist Statement of no more than 1,500 characters including spaces** must identify the AI tools, models, platforms and workflow used, and explain artistic intentions. Missing this statement is grounds for exclusion. The application form also asks title, year, technical specifications, project description and details of the tools used. Rights to any training datasets, reference images and submitted material are the artist's responsibility. The committee evaluates artistic quality, conceptual relevance and production feasibility and expects to announce the twenty finalists from 1 December 2026.
Four prizes, work acquisition and expenses
The four cash awards are **€1,500 each**, totalling €6,000: overall AI Horizons, Polo Parma Heritage, COLSER–Auroradomus Care, and DS Solutions Data Sustainability. Awards are **gross before tax**, and the overall prize may be combined with a sponsor award. Another residency prize is limited to a selected European artist, not all global finalists. **Important: the competition rules treat cash awards as consideration for acquisition of all or part of the winning artwork; winners undertake to transfer the agreed work to the organiser and sponsor under a subsequent agreement.** Exhibition shipping and equipment hire are covered, but artists pay personal travel, meals and accommodation beyond a hotel room provided on the exhibition's opening day. Promotional use rights are granted without time or territorial limits.
