Satyrykon 2027: Poland Opens 50th Anniversary Poster Design Competition, PLN 7,500 Prize
The Satyrykon International Exhibition in Legnica, Poland, is inviting designers, illustrators and visual artists to create the official promotional poster for its 50th anniversary edition in 2027. Unlike the exhibition's separate main art competition, this special call asks for a single event identity that may be printed and reproduced in promotional materials. The selected designer will receive PLN 7,500, and applications must arrive by 31 October 2026 at the organiser's dedicated email address.
What is the brief?
The poster should create a distinctive, memorable visual for the 50th International SATYRYKON Exhibition – Legnica 2027. Entrants are free to interpret the exhibition's half-century history in either a retrospective or contemporary way. Humour, provocation and social observation are welcome, reflecting the festival's long emphasis on satire, cartoons and experimental visual language.
Mandatory text and entry limit
The design must contain the exact Polish phrase: “50 lat Satyrykonu. Legnica 2027”. Designers should treat this wording as mandatory artwork content, not translate it inside the final poster. Every participant may email a maximum of two original designs. Prize and copyright implications
The winning design becomes part of the official visual identity for the 2027 jubilee and receives PLN 7,500. Because it will be used for promotion, the scope of reproduction and rights licensing is a meaningful contract term. Applicants should read the official annex or ask the organiser how copyright and exclusivity will be handled before they send a design that they also intend to license commercially.
Do not confuse it with the main Satyrykon 2027 competition
Satyrykon is simultaneously running its long-standing International Exhibition competition, with separate categories, prizes and a later January 2027 deadline. That is not this poster commission. The special anniversary poster email deadline is 31 October 2026 and the top prize is PLN 7,500. Using the rules for the separate exhibition would risk submitting the wrong material to the wrong channel.
Organisation and long history
The International Satyrykon Exhibition began in 1977 and is managed through the Legnica Cultural Centre. Its archive, gallery and collections document poster designers and satirical artists from Poland and abroad.
