Screen NSW's 2026–27 Production Fund Round 99 is currently open for eligible NSW screen production companies and project teams. It can support animated features and series, long-form fictional or factual productions, direct-to-audience narrative series and certain interactive ONLINE screen content, but explicitly excludes games from its interactive content definition.

ROUND 99 DATES — The 2026/27 competition table gives an opening date of Monday 19 October 2026 and a closing date of Monday 23 November 2026. The following R100 round is scheduled for 8 March–5 April 2027. Applicants should treat the current November window as a distinct assessment round, not an indefinite or rolling open call.

AMOUNTS — Production Finance Fund support ranges up to A$850,000 and the Regional Filming Fund portion up to A$200,000, giving a combined programme ceiling of A$1,050,000 when the project qualifies for BOTH. The project's overall production budget must be BELOW A$20 million. This is state investment in professional screen work, not a contest prize to individual animation students.

WHAT IS REGIONAL SUPPORT? — The Regional Filming Fund helps offset specified eligible shooting costs in regional NSW outside Greater Sydney. Producers seeking that support must apply through the same Production Fund application as the Production Finance Fund and demonstrate the required regional qualifying expenditure and impacts.

WHO CAN APPLY — The agency invests in NSW screen production companies, projects and practitioners producing or post-producing in NSW, in line with its Terms of Trade. This is a professional screen-production programme; a company without necessary project rights or genuine NSW production, expenditure or employment outcomes must not assume it qualifies.

SCREEN FORMATS — The official summary names feature films, telemovies, long-form drama and comedy, factual and documentary TV, ANIMATED FEATURES AND SERIES, commissioned online series, direct-to-audience series and interactive online screen work EXCLUDING video games. Gallery-based media installations, ordinary corporate promotional videos and uncommissioned game development should be assessed against different programmes.

PREPARATION — Teams should prepare the official Application Materials Checklist, development and production budgets, confirmed finance and distribution pathways, rights and chain-of-title evidence, key creative credits, NSW production and postproduction spending, schedules and cultural consultation plans where relevant. Regional filming proposals need specific location and economic-benefit evidence.

ABOUT THE FUNDER — Screen NSW is the New South Wales Government's screen development and production agency. It operates separate development, production, local large-scale production, games-related and workforce support programmes. The detailed Programme Guidelines and state Terms of Trade are published on its official site.

APPLY AND VERIFY — https://www.screen.nsw.gov.au/funding-support/production-fund . The website provides direct application access, the 2026/27 round table, funding ceilings and production criteria. Checked 22 October 2026. Funding allocations can be exhausted and applicants should verify availability before submission.
