SVAIFF Korea 2026: Free Worldwide AI Film Contest, ₩30m Prize Fund, November 25
Call and eligibility
SVAIFF KOREA 2026 invites AI filmmakers from any country, regardless of nationality or residence, to an independent competition in Seoul linked to the Silicon Valley AI Film Festival. Entry to the Korean regional contest is free. Categories include AI narrative, animation, documentary, advertising, music video, AI idol, Arirang/K-culture and youth or university work. The Korean awards are scheduled for December 17, 2026; selected winners become eligible for the January 2027 global final in Silicon Valley.
Submission requirements
The competition demands meaningful generative AI work: at least half of the visuals, or key story elements such as script, music or effects, must be AI-created or substantially assisted. Basic subtitles, upscaling or noise reduction alone do not qualify. Entrants upload a finished MP4, titles in Korean and English, summary, poster, an approximately two-page creative statement and evidence from three scenes showing AI contribution. Each person or team may enter up to five films per category. The submission lock deadline is November 25, 2026, 23:59:59 Korea Standard Time.
Awards, fees and important rights
The Korean prize pool totals ₩30 million before tax, including a ₩10 million Grand Prix. Main prize winners must advance to the Silicon Valley global final, whose US$99 evaluation fee the Korean organiser covers. Encouragement recipients may opt in but pay US$99 themselves. In-person travel is usually self-funded except for a return flight provided to the top three prize recipients attending the US ceremony. Copyright stays with the maker; festival operations receive a two-year non-exclusive licence. Non-consensual deepfake likeness and voice use may disqualify a film.
