Media-art award for audiovisual screen-based artworks engaging with the context of Asia.

Deadline: Application period: 26 May 2026 - 21 July 2026 (KST).

Application Fee / Participation Fee: No application fee is stated on the official VH AWARD page.

Eligibility: Individuals or collectives whose work engages with the context of Asia. The official page lists individuals or collectives of Asian descent, those based in Asia, and members of the Asian diaspora.

Artwork / Application Requirements: The competition field is audiovisual screen-based artworks, including video art, motion graphics, animation, games, films, or newly explored areas. Proposed works must be suitable for single-channel video presentation. All documents must be submitted in English. Proposals must be original works not submitted to other competitions or awards and not presented in exhibitions or events.

Prize / Benefits / Support: Five finalists receive a production grant of 30,000 USD, an opportunity to participate in the Ars Electronica online residency program, and exhibition opportunities across global art platforms. The Grand Prix recipient receives an additional 30,000 USD. The new Honorary Mention category invites one or two additional applicants to join selected components of the online residency program.

Conditions / Notes: The official FAQ states that participation in all Ars Electronica online residency sessions is mandatory for the five finalists. It also states that each applicant may submit up to two entries, but not the same artwork.
