The World Around Young Climate Prize 2026

A global mentorship and award program for young climate leaders with self-initiated climate-action projects.

Deadline: Applications close on 30 June 2026 at 11:59 PM ET / EDT, according to the official page.

Application Fee / Participation Fee: Entry to and participation in the prize is free.

Eligibility: Applicants must be between 13 and 25 at the time of application. Groups of up to three may enter, and every group member must meet the eligibility criteria. Applicants can be located anywhere in the world. Applicants must be the founder or co-founder of a live project with demonstrable impact in addressing or mitigating the impacts of climate change in their community.

Application / Project Requirements: Applicants share a short video introducing their project and accompanying written or visual materials showing evidence of the work and its impact. Submissions are accepted in English or Spanish.

Award / Support / Benefits: The official page states that 25 finalists are selected. Each finalist is paired with a designer for one-on-one mentorship and joins The World Around Design Academy. The prize also includes strategic guidance, a global peer network, the opportunity to travel to New York City and present work on stage, and participation in the Young Climate Prize Fellowship for three years beyond the program.

Additional Conditions Stated on the Official Page: The FAQ states that applicants must already be actively leading a climate-action project; ideas alone are not eligible.
