TOKAS International Creator Residency Program 2027

Tokyo Arts and Space invites international creators in visual arts, design, and architecture to work in Tokyo through the International Creator Residency Program 2027.

Deadline: 16 June 2026, 18:00 JST.

Application Fee / Participation Fee: No application fee is stated on the official page.

Eligibility: International creators in visual arts, design, and architecture. The FAQ states that there is no age limit, and that applicants finishing a master’s degree are eligible if they will not be students during participation and have five years or more of experience in their specialized area.

Project / Submission Requirements: Applicants fill in the application form PDF and upload the application form, two letters of recommendation, and a portfolio through the online submission form. The research outcome of the residency is presented at OPEN STUDIO.

Support / Benefits: Three-month residency. Six creators are selected, two creators per period. TOKAS provides airfare, living expenses as per diem, a fee for creative work or project, a single living space, and shared studio or workspace.

Additional Conditions Stated by Organizer: Residency periods are from the beginning of May to the end of July 2027, from the beginning of September to the end of November 2027, or from the beginning of January to the end of March 2028. For duo applications, the FAQ states that living expenses and the creative work/project fee are offered for one person, while airfare is provided for both members of the duo.
