The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) invites young members of Indigenous Peoples in WIPO member states worldwide to submit an original video for the Indigenous Youth Video Prize 2026. The theme, 'Indigenous Peoples’ Know-How and Creativity in Action', explores living cultural knowledge, creative practices, contemporary traditions and the communities that sustain them.

The deadline is November 6, 2026 at 23:59 Geneva time. Eligible participants must be members of Indigenous Peoples between 18 and 35 years old on that closing date. The entrant must have made the video and short written description themselves; each person may enter once. The video must not have won or been recognized in another competition.

Videos may document traditional craft, community storytelling, performance, food practices, medicine, agriculture or other forms of knowledge and cultural expression. Entrants should obtain relevant community permissions, especially before sharing traditional expressions, and must avoid sacred, secret or culturally sensitive information. Videos are judged on creativity, thematic relevance, visual expression and community impact rather than the use of costly equipment.

Entries are free. The first, second and third prizes consist of digital equipment worth up to US$4,000, US$3,000 and US$2,000 respectively; a People's Choice winner can receive equipment worth up to US$1,000. These are equipment awards, not guaranteed cash payments. Producers of the top 15 entries can also benefit from WIPO Academy training.

Applicants must submit a title, an original video, a brief description of the video and a personal profile identifying the Indigenous People to which they belong. Entry information and descriptions are accepted in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Russian or Spanish. A video in an Indigenous language must include a script translated into one of those seven application languages. Submission is through WIPO's official online platform.
