Art Studio Itsukaichi is recruiting artists for its 2026 artist-in-residence program. The program is sponsored by the Akiruno City Education Board and operated by the Art Studio Itsukaichi Operation Committee.

Eligibility: One foreign artist and two Japanese artists are invited each year. Foreign applicants must hold nationality of a foreign country with diplomatic relations with Japan and be under 40 in principle. Foreign and Japanese applicants must have daily English conversation ability, good health, and cooperation with other invited artists during collective life and artistic activities.
Project / Submission Requirements: Applicants complete the application form, upload a letter of recommendation, and submit 10 JPEG images of their work, up to 10 MB, with descriptions through the Printmaking AIR explanation of works form.
Support / Benefits: The invitation period is from 1 September to 30 November 2026. Invited artists receive 270,000 yen in total for three months of living expenditure, paid as 90,000 yen per month. The foreign artist receives airfare support up to 120,000 yen, refunded after arrival.

Additional Conditions Stated by Organizer: Invited artists are asked to contribute more than two artworks created during the residency as part of the ACEB collections. Works are selected by ASIOC at the end of the program, and all rights of collected works are reserved to ACEB. ASIOC takes out accident insurance for invited artists; uncovered accidents or sickness are the responsibility of the invited artists.
