Australian Photography Your Best Shot 2026: Ocean Theme Open to Australian Residents Until 30 November
Australian Photography magazine's Your Best Shot competition has an OCEAN-themed round closing on Monday 30 November 2026. Eligibility and number of entries
The published terms allow Australian residents or Australian citizens who can provide an Australian mailing address; an Australian street address is required to win the prize. Entrants must use their own photographs, captured no more than 24 months before the round deadline. A maximum of three images may be entered by one person. Yaffa Media employees and freelance contributors are ineligible to win. The OCEAN theme is the upcoming round; earlier themes such as MINIMALISM and LIGHT/SHADOW have already closed.
Image and accompanying explanation
Upload each image using the competition's official OCEAN entry link. The form asks for an account of up to 200 words explaining how the photograph was made. Applicants are also requested to include camera, lens, focal length, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, tripod details when applicable and an overview of any software processing. The original photo and copyright requirements apply to digital edits just as they do to camera files.
Judging, publication and prize
Australian Photography editor Mike O'Connor selects six photographs for print and online publication for each issue and names a winner and a runner-up. A winner also receives a prize, although the organiser cautions that the specific prize can change. The published competition page describes Your Best Shot as free, so it is not a paid photo-contest entry.
