CIFRA POWER ON/OFF Awards Six €1,000 Prizes for International Screen-Native Art
Opportunity overview
Digital-media platform CIFRA has opened its international POWER ON/OFF call for art that examines the changing mechanisms of power. It invites screen-native moving images and other work about algorithms, online platforms, social systems, resistance, refusal, humour, repair and solidarity.
Who may apply
The opportunity is presented as an international open call for artists making screen-based work. Eligible submissions must be hosted as public artworks on CIFRA. A work available only as a physical installation, or a video linked solely from a different platform, does not meet the specified on-platform requirement.
Eligible work
Applicants create a CIFRA profile with an image, biography and relevant links, then upload their actual work publicly on CIFRA with a description and cover artwork. Finally, they complete the application form with a direct link to the hosted piece. Google Drive and Vimeo URLs alone are expressly excluded from consideration.
Deadline and how to apply
The deadline is November 1, 2026 at 23:59, labelled GST by the organizer. Audience Award voting is scheduled from November 13 through December 3. The current official application page says winners are announced on December 4, 2026 at 14:00 GST.
Fees, awards and important conditions
Six artists each receive €1,000: five selected by the international jury and one chosen through the audience vote. The winning projects gain exhibition and publicity on CIFRA and its editorial and social channels. Any registration costs, usage permissions and intellectual-property terms should be reviewed in the platform's current terms before submission.
