Circular ArtSpace 32nd Community Art Exhibition: Digital Works Welcome, Deadline 10 November
Circular ArtSpace is inviting entries for its 32nd Community Art Exhibition, running from 26 November to 19 December 2026 in its converted double-decker-bus gallery in Fishponds, Bristol. The entry deadline is 10 November 2026 at 23:59 GMT. Applications are free; however, each selected artist must pay a £35 participation fee before exhibiting. The organiser accepts a wide range of visual practices, including digital art, illustration, photography, video and installation, as well as traditional painting and sculpture.
Digital art is eligible, but AI-generated work is not
The listing explicitly welcomes digital and time-based visual formats while stating that AI-generated works are not accepted in any form. Artists using digital tools to create original images or video should explain the human creative process and make sure the piece does not conflict with that restriction. The exhibition displays one selected work per artist. Applications can show multiple pieces for curatorial consideration, but only a single work will be chosen if the artist is accepted.
Size and physical display requirements
Two-dimensional pieces, photographs, illustrations and listed video or visual works must comply with the stated maximum dimensions of 110 × 110 cm. The call gives a smaller limit for three-dimensional installations and sculpture of 35 × 80 × 35 cm; check the orientation with the curator before committing materials. Two-dimensional pieces should be framed and ready to hang. Even when an artwork originates as a digital file, producing its physical display is the artist's responsibility unless a different arrangement is agreed.
No fee to enter, but £35 after selection
There is no application charge. Selected artists are asked to pay £35 for participation. The gallery does not take a commission on sales, so artists retain the full selling price if a work is purchased. This is therefore an exhibition opportunity rather than a paid artistic commission or prize programme. Potential applicants should budget for printing, framing, delivery, return transport and any equipment rather than assuming that digital submissions eliminate those costs.
Key dates for packing and collecting artwork
The organizer gives 10 November for application closure, 24 November for artwork sent by post to arrive, and 25 November for hand delivery. The meet-the-artists opening is 26 November and the exhibition runs until 19 December; collection is scheduled for 20 December. Some entries in the listing's FAQ retain dates from an older exhibition, so successful artists should confirm the delivery and collection schedule against the curator's personal acceptance instructions before shipping anything.
What to submit
The online CuratorSpace form accepts a small set of artwork images or links, alongside the work title, medium and appropriate details. Artists can supply a portfolio or social-media link where helpful. The organisers emphasise broad access for emerging and underrepresented artists, but also need to know that the exhibited piece is complete, original and physically suitable for their unusual gallery setting. Overseas shipping can introduce customs charges and administrative complexity, so check with the gallery before entering from outside the UK.
Official application
Information checked 18 October 2026. Full venue, format, transport and fee conditions should be read directly on the live submission page.
