Dance Digital 2027: Sadler’s Wells Opens Global Dance Film Submissions
Sadler’s Wells Digital Stage is seeking dance films for Dance Digital 2027, a UK festival bringing together screenings, VR/XR installations, networking, mentoring and conversations about dance in digital formats. Selected films may also receive a curated release on the Digital Stage platform.
Who can apply
Eligible categories include Dance on Screen shorts of up to 25 minutes; dance documentaries or behind-the-scenes films of up to 25 minutes; feature films over 25 and up to 70 minutes; works led by artists aged 21 and under (free to apply); and works made for social media of up to three minutes.
Dates and funding
The early-bird deadline is 6 December 2026 and the final deadline is 10 January 2027 at midnight. Filmmakers are due to hear by the end of April 2027; the festival will take place in November 2027. Consult FilmFreeway for fees applying to other categories.
How to apply
Most films are submitted via FilmFreeway through the official page. For the social-media category, publish publicly on Instagram or TikTok, tag the specified Sadler’s Wells account, use #MadeForSocialDD27, and email the video link to digitalstage@sadlerswells.com.
Important details
The same film previously entered for Dance Digital 2026 cannot be entered again in 2027. Selected films will be considered for awards including choreography, cinematography and original score. Review the organiser’s terms and rights requirements before submitting.
