New Media Caucus Showcase 2027 Seeks Global New Media Art Presenters for Hybrid Event
Hybrid new media art showcase
The international New Media Caucus (NMC) is seeking artists and scholars to present work at its February 4, 2027 showcase. The event will take place at Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts in New York City with concurrent remote participation on Zoom, allowing speakers who cannot travel to New York to take part online.
Eligibility and presentation format
Ten presenters will be selected: five in person and five on Zoom. Each receives six minutes to present just one work, rather than a career retrospective. The organization welcomes applicants broadly, including graduate MFA and PhD students, provided they have not presented at the NMC Showcase during the previous three years.
Proposal and supporting material
The application asks for a concise description of the new media art project being presented, a functioning link to work samples, and a short explanation of how the project relates to the New Media Caucus mission or diversity commitments. Members of the NMC board will judge the proposals.
Deadline and key dates
The official deadline is Friday, October 23, 2026 at 11:59 p.m., labelled EST by the organizer. Selected applicants will be notified by November 23 and must confirm by December 4. The hybrid showcase is scheduled for Thursday, February 4, 2027, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in New York.
Membership and financial terms
Selected speakers must join the New Media Caucus through its Pay-What-You-Can membership programme; the organizer says no one will be excluded for lack of money. Audience admission is free and no College Art Association registration is required. The call does not promise presenter honoraria or reimbursement of international travel.
