Praxis Gallery 'Versions of Me' 2026: Global Self-Portrait Photo Call Ends November 15

Praxis Gallery & Photographic Arts Center in Minneapolis has opened an international juried photography call titled 'Versions of Me: The Artist as Subject'. Rather than simply requesting conventional portraits, the gallery invites photographers to explore their own identity through direct self-portraiture, reflections, shadows, staged scenarios and more conceptual traces of presence.

Submission deadline: 15 November 2026 at 11:59 p.m. US Central Time. The gallery plans to notify entrants on 27 November and display accepted works from 19 December 2026 to 9 January 2027. Up to 38 photographs are expected to be selected for the Minneapolis gallery, with an accompanying online display.

Eligibility: entrants must be at least 18 years old. Submitted images must not have been shown at Praxis Gallery within the previous year. Submission costs $35 for up to five images, plus $5 per additional image, with a maximum of ten images. The gallery says artists experiencing financial hardship may request a free submission by contacting its team.

Prepare JPEG images to the gallery's stated technical specifications and ensure sufficient resolution for exhibition. Selected artists may send unframed physical prints or use the gallery's printing service for an additional $37. Artists retain copyright; Praxis receives non-exclusive promotional and exhibition uses. If sold, works are subject to a 50% gallery commission.
