- Bayside NSW Photography Competition 2026: Eight Local Categories, $4,300 Prize Pool
Bayside Council in New South Wales is inviting local residents to enter the 2026 Bayside Photography Competition. The annual council event looks for photographic perspectives on the people, parks, coast, transport, neighbourhoods and built environment of the Bayside local government area. Submissions are free and the total advertised prize pool is A$4,300. The current application period runs from Thursday 1 October until Saturday 31 October 2026. Geographic eligibility: Bayside residents The Council's current invitation is specifically for residents of its Bayside area, not for every photographer in Australia or overseas simply because they can shoot Sydney beaches. The online form requires an address, suburb and postcode; the Council may verify eligibility. Young entrants are welcome through the Junior category, with a parent or guardian completing the special child-entry section where relevant. Check the full current competition terms to see how age and exact local-government-area boundary are defined. Eight subject categories The official application form lists Open, Natural Environment, Waterways, Active, Transport, Built Design, Your Neighbourhood and Junior. The Built Design class is new in 2026 and focuses on architecture, urban form and public-space details from heritage features to modern spaces. Applicants should choose the category most closely matching the photograph rather than submit unrelated generic landscape files. Council material sometimes describes 'seven category prizes' while its current site explicitly lists eight classes; the current entry form should control your choice. Digital upload requirements Submit through the Bayside Council online competition form, entering contact details, image category, photo title and a digital photograph. The live upload field identifies one file with a 64MB maximum and allows GIF, JPG, PNG or HEIC formats. Images must satisfy the Council's photo originality and subject-location rules and be supplied with any appropriate permissions for recognisable people. The online form closes at 11:59pm Sydney local time on Saturday 31 October. If entering several photographs, check whether each requires a separate form. Prizes, finalists and exhibition The Council's total 2026 prize pool is A$4,300 across categories; individual amounts and winner conditions should be checked in the full official terms. Selected winners and finalists will have their photographs displayed at public sites including The Grand Eastlakes, Brighton Le Sands Boardwalk and Sydney Airport T1 International Arrivals in early 2027. Prize selection and exhibition do not mean every submitted work will be displayed or that entrants receive a performance fee. Organizer and prior awards Bayside Council is the elected municipal authority for the area surrounding Sydney Airport and Botany Bay. Its public website publishes the 2026 call, eight category definitions and the submission form. It also documents its 2025 contest winners and the public exhibition held in early 2026, providing an institutional history and public photographic examples. This is a council-run event, not a third-party subscription-based stock-image contest. - Beam Camp 2027 Global Public Art Call: $5,000 Award, 30 November Deadline
Beam Center invites artists, architects, engineers, designers, filmmakers and technologists worldwide to imagine the next large collaborative public artwork for Beam Camp in Strafford, New Hampshire. The selected concept will be developed for hands-on construction with young campers in summer 2027. Eligibility and the brief Applicants may come from any country and be of any age, including collaborative teams. The winning design should be ambitious and buildable largely on site, making meaningful work for over 100 campers and more than 20 staff across approximately 50 hours. Physical construction is essential; technological or moving-image ideas need a feasible material and participatory plan. Award, budget and commitment The selected proposer receives a $5,000 award. An additional fabrication budget of approximately $15,000 belongs to the project and should not be mistaken for an extra personal prize. The designer must be available for meetings every two weeks beginning about six months before completion, and reasonable travel expenses for time at camp may be reimbursed. PDF proposal and deadline Prepare a single PDF containing a project title, detailed concept, sketches or renders, and the names, contact details, experience and portfolios/CVs of all collaborators. The deadline is Monday, 30 November 2026 at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). Check the official event page for the currently available submission route and optional Zoom information sessions. Organiser's record and practical checks Beam Center runs youth arts-and-making education and has delivered past camp projects such as Theater of Giants (2025) and Welcome Beacon (2023). Its workshops include metal and wood fabrication, textiles, ceramics, a technology lab and audio equipment. Applicants should show how their idea can be safely built together rather than presenting a purely speculative visual. - Daum Museum 25th Anniversary Design Contest 2026: Digital Artwork, US$500 Prize
Daum Museum of Contemporary Art in Sedalia, Missouri is holding a 25th Anniversary Contest to select artwork and designs celebrating the museum's history. Winning graphic designs may be used on commemorative merchandise, marketing materials and display banners in 2027. Unlike a conventional printed artwork mail-in show, this contest requires files to be submitted digitally. Entry is open to anyone, including designers and illustrators outside Missouri, and is free. Deadline, categories and maximum entries The submission period is 1 October through 1 December 2026, with the formal deadline on Tuesday 1 December 2026. Artists may send up to three original design works. The museum states that the call is free and open to everyone; no US citizenship, state residency or narrow student affiliation is required in the published rules. Because it is open broadly, this is not classified as a country- or locality-limited opportunity. Image format and creative brief Submit digital artworks at a minimum of 300dpi and at least 8 by 10 inches, equivalent to approximately 2,400 by 3,000 pixels. The museum asks for a short statement explaining why the design commemorates its 25th anniversary. The selected design may appear on commemorative items, banners or printed marketing; consider legibility, reproduction, the institution's identity and the difference between a museum anniversary design and a personal exhibition portfolio. US$500 award and rights questions Daum Museum advertises a US$500 cash prize for the selected winning design or designs. The official short announcement does not fully specify licensing, exclusivity or whether any multiple winning designs divide the award, so entrants should verify the detailed entry form and contact the museum before giving permission for unlimited future commercial production. Submitting up to three designs does not mean three prizes will be awarded. About Daum Museum of Contemporary Art Daum Museum is a contemporary art museum associated with State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri. The museum maintains exhibition, collection and public learning programmes, and the anniversary commission is tied to its quarter-century milestone. The institutional website publishes the 2026 dates, design specs, cash prize and an official Apply Here link, so entrants can use the original route rather than a third-party fee-collection site. Application and contact details Use the Apply Here link on the Daum Museum's 25th Anniversary Contest page and prepare up to three print-resolution images and an artist statement. Check allowable file types, any design-delivery obligations, artwork ownership and publicity rights on the entry form before submitting. For questions, the museum lists Allison Martin at allisonmartin@daummuseum.org or +1 660-596-7177. - Wollongong Young Artist in Residency 2027: Local Digital and Moving-Image Artists Aged 18–24
Wollongong City Council is accepting applications for the 2027 Young Artist in Residency, a twelve-month development opportunity based at the Wollongong Youth Services artist studio in New South Wales. The Council expressly includes digital art, moving image, photography, painting, illustration, installation, textile and sculpture practices. This is an artist-in-development opportunity with regular community participation, not a one-time award for simply uploading a video or image. Strict local age and affiliation requirements Candidates must be aged 18 to 24 during 2026/27 AND live, work or attend school in the Wollongong City Council area. The council does not describe this as an Australia-wide youth residency without local ties. Applications opened on Monday 12 October and close Monday 30 November 2026. Eligible applicants are encouraged from diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, young people with disability and culturally diverse backgrounds, but those encouragements do not replace the local affiliation rule. What the 12-month residency gives the artist The chosen artist receives use of the in-house studio at agreed times when it is not scheduled for other youth programmes, professional development and mentoring, A$1,000 worth of art materials or equipment provided through two A$500 instalments, support to lead workshops, and promotion and an exhibition towards the end of the residency. The amount refers to supplies and equipment, not an automatic A$1,000 personal cash wage or fee. The selected applicant signs a contract with the Council. Creative and community responsibilities Residency responsibilities include using the studio weekly, running two workshops during school holidays, participating in the Crafts n Chat programme, mentoring young participants and collaborating on an artwork for an exhibition or public creative event. Digital video or photography applicants must be willing to work with young people and share skills as well as develop their own portfolios. A current Working With Children Check is required or must be arranged by the participant at their own cost. How to make the application The Council asks for a current CV, maximum 5MB, including qualifications and previous exhibitions or projects; visual artists attach a document with up to five images of their work, maximum 10MB. A current Working With Children Check can be included if already held. Applications are made through the Apply for 2027 Young Artist in Residency button on Wollongong City Council's programme page. The Council has not announced an application fee in the verified description. Council experience and examples Wollongong Youth Services has previously hosted local artists including Amelie Masset in this young residency and artist George Williams in the related Creative Studios Residency Programme. The Council's 12 October 2026 news release describes their work with exhibitions and young people's workshops. These public examples show the intended balance between professional art development and practical community engagement. Official programme and independent verification Both the Council's programme page and its dated 2026 news release give the same 30 November application deadline and 18–24 age range. Contact youthservices@wollongong.nsw.gov.au or (02) 4227 8222 to verify circumstances and accessibility. Use only the Council's application portal and check the residency contract, workshop obligations and rights to collaborative works before committing. - Lunaria Gallery Home Is Where the HeART Is 2027: Oregon and Southwest Washington Artists
Lunaria Gallery in Silverton, Oregon is inviting artists living in Oregon and southwest Washington to submit original works for Home Is Where the HeART Is, its upcoming juried group exhibition. The subject is the emotional and visual meaning of home, belonging, memory and what moves the heart. The gallery welcomes a range of physical two-dimensional and three-dimensional media; digital photographs or design work may be used as application images, but accepted artwork must meet the show's original, display-ready physical-object rules. Local eligibility and deadline Only artists from Oregon and southwest Washington are invited to apply. The official online entry deadline is 30 November 2026, midnight Pacific time. The gallery's current page describes the 2027 programme but retains an outdated sentence referring to the previous show year and inconsistently calls it both the ninth and tenth edition. Applicants should rely on the 2026–27 event dates in its CURRENT Important Dates section and ask the gallery if any uncertainty remains. The locality condition is explicit and is why this article is categorized as geographically restricted. Fees, commission and awards Application is free, but every ACCEPTED piece carries a $20 hanging fee. The gallery charges a 40% sales commission on works sold through the show. Two annual awards are described: a People's Choice Award and a Member's Award. The Member's Award has historically offered a guest exhibition opportunity in the gallery's Loft. The site does not promise an automatic cash prize or a sale for each successful applicant. Artwork size and image submission Artists may submit up to three images. The online form requests images sized to 1,280 pixels along the longest edge, 72dpi, and no larger than 1MB per file, plus each work's title, medium, dimensions and sale price. Physical 2D work must not be larger than 22 by 28 inches and needs secure professional hanging hardware. Three-dimensional objects may not exceed 40 pounds and must be stable and safe to display. The organiser allows original artist prints but excludes giclée reproductions and other reproductions. Digital-image artists must confirm whether their specific edition or printing method satisfies this important originality distinction. Installation and exhibition timetable The current schedule says notification of selection is planned for 2 December 2026. Artists must deliver accepted work to Lunaria Gallery on Sunday 27 December 2026, 11:30am to 4pm. The exhibition is scheduled from 30 December 2026 to 1 February 2027, with a reception on 8 January 2027. These are provisional organiser dates, not a claim that an online upload alone fulfils the gallery's physical-delivery requirement. About Lunaria Gallery Lunaria Gallery is a longstanding gallery in Silverton with recurring juried themed exhibitions and a programme featuring local and regional makers. Its website documents several previous Home Is Where the HeART Is editions and retains a working application form for the 2027 show. The gallery publishes the physical installation rules, selection timing, sales commission and contact information. Those details allow applicants to distinguish the official opportunity from generic art-contest directories. Apply through the original gallery Use the official form attached to the gallery's 2027 page. If the form cannot be completed, Lunaria lists enter@lunariagallery.com as an alternative contact for entry details and images. Prepare original artworks, appropriate permissions and physical delivery arrangements before applying; selected work's display and sale terms are governed by the gallery's full instructions. - Lake Oswego Gallery Without Walls 2027–29: New Media and 3D Outdoor Public Art Call
The Arts Council of Lake Oswego (ACLO), working with the City of Lake Oswego in Oregon, is inviting applications for the 2027–2029 Gallery Without Walls rotating outdoor public art collection. It will select up to 15 artworks for installation in the downtown business district for a two-year public exhibition. Artists working in three-dimensional sculpture, inventive outdoor assemblages and new-media installations are among those invited. Applications close Monday 30 November 2026, at 5pm Pacific time. What can be exhibited? Artists may propose up to three individual finished artworks or projects yet to be fabricated. New work needs to be complete and ready for installation by August 2027. Art must be safe, physically installable and durable enough for Pacific Northwest outdoor conditions. The organiser explicitly invites sculpture, 3D and new-media installations, but an exclusively online digital work or simple video upload does not by itself meet the physical public-space brief. Read the installation, conservation, engineering and permissions requirements carefully. Application fee, honorarium and sales The entry fee is US$25, with applicants encouraged to contact ACLO if the fee creates a barrier. Selected artists receive a US$1,500 honorarium during the exhibition project. Artwork may also be offered for sale; the Arts Council describes a 30% gallery commission on sales. An award of US$1,500 is not the same as a guaranteed sale or unlimited production budget. Artists remain responsible for delivering accepted works to Lake Oswego, Oregon. Who can apply and whether travel is covered The call invites artists with a range of backgrounds and experience levels, including newcomers to large outdoor installations. The public announcement does not state that entry is legally restricted to Oregon citizens or residents, so we have not classified it as nationality-only or country-limited. However, every selected artist must ensure an accepted artwork can be delivered in August 2027; that practical requirement can make the opportunity costly for applicants living abroad. Transport and fabrication support beyond the stated honorarium should not be assumed. Timeline and selection The application closes at 5pm Pacific time on 30 November 2026. The selected collection is due to be installed in August 2027 and remain on public display through summer 2029. ACLO provides a prospectus, a Google-based application form and a recorded information session with public art practitioners, including fabrication, installation and conservation advice. The Selection Committee chooses up to 15 works; meeting the submission criteria does not promise selection. About the Arts Council and the exhibition Gallery Without Walls has brought public sculpture and installations into Lake Oswego's streets for more than twenty years. The current rotating collection, city art maps, printed guides and earlier 2025–2027 or 2026–2028 cohorts are documented on ACLO's official website. The Council publishes contact details, an application prospectus and a public-art information session, so artists can verify the organiser rather than relying on an anonymous contest directory. Official rules and application Download the full 2027–29 prospectus before using the application form. It specifies how to describe artworks, including designs and materials, and includes the official submission link. Questions go to publicart@artscouncillo.org. The Arts Council also explains how to seek assistance if the US$25 fee prevents an application. Review the terms governing public safety, maintenance, insurance and any sale commission before accepting a position. - Camden John Street Pocket Garden 2026: Australia-Based First Nations Public Art EOI, 16 November
Camden Council in New South Wales, Australia, has opened an Expression of Interest for a commissioned public artwork at the planned John Street Pocket Garden in Camden Town Centre. The brief centres on 'Connecting with Country' and invites artists to respond to local ecology, waterways, cultural histories, language and community gathering through site-specific visual art. Applicants must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artists living in Australia; it is not an unrestricted worldwide open call. Closing date and who can apply Stage-one Expressions of Interest opened Monday 19 October 2026 and close Monday 16 November 2026. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists who LIVE IN AUSTRALIA may apply individually or as artist teams, whether emerging or established. Camden residency is not mandatory: the Council explicitly states that eligible artists may live anywhere in Australia. Applicants may refer to a cultural or professional connection to the place, but must not misrepresent Traditional Owner authority or permissions. The artwork, design media and community engagement The proposed public art may incorporate sculpture, integrated seating, mosaics, paving, storytelling or other visual-design forms as part of a small public garden. Digital concept drawings and design portfolios can support the development process, but the final commission concerns a built or integrated artwork rather than a purely virtual exhibition, digital-media prize or video commission. The selected artist will also collaborate on a workshop with a local school as part of the design process. Commission budget and paid second stage Camden Council proposes a total commission budget of up to A$50,000, excluding GST where applicable. This is a complete artwork-project budget that may include artist fees, meetings, community engagement, fabrication, travel and materials, NOT a A$50,000 personal prize. Up to four artists or teams will be shortlisted for paid concept development; each can receive up to A$1,500 excluding GST upon delivery of the requested proposal and valid invoice. Only one project is expected to receive the main commission. Application documents and selection stages The first-stage SmartyGrants application asks for contact details, artist or team biography (up to 500 words), relevant past projects, cultural connection to the site, aspirations for the location, proposed method for community engagement and two referees. No complete concept design is required in the initial EOI. Shortlisted applicants are due to be notified on 30 November, with a site visit and briefing scheduled for 7 December 2026. The commission is awarded through a subsequent assessment, not through the initial EOI alone. The organiser and cultural responsibilities Camden Council is a NSW local government authority responsible for Camden Town Centre public spaces, public art procurement and community cultural development. It administers the John Street Pocket Garden commission through its own grants portal. The brief expressly requires respect for Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property and appropriate permission for stories, imagery, language and community knowledge from relevant cultural authorities. The Council can help connect the selected artist with Traditional Owners. Official application and verification The complete current timetable, applicant eligibility, council contact and SmartyGrants link appear on Camden Council's original webpage. Use that page to begin the formal EOI. Enquiries should go to the Council Cultural Projects team at creative@camden.nsw.gov.au. Applicants should review the commission scope, design ownership, fabrication responsibilities, cultural approvals, insurance and payment stages before entering any agreement. - Chicago Rogers Park Science in Art 2026: NASA-Inspired Artwork for Local Elementary Pupils
The Willye B. White Park Advisory Council in Chicago is organising its Autumn 2026 Science in Art Competition for elementary pupils in the Rogers Park neighbourhood. Young artists must choose a NASA mission—past, active or future—and create an original flat, two-dimensional image inspired by that mission. The programme connects science storytelling with visual art for children, with a local in-person display and public voting. Who is eligible and the exact closing date Only elementary school students attending school in Rogers Park, or children receiving equivalent home-school education in Rogers Park, may participate. Children from unrelated neighbourhoods or schools are not eligible merely because they are interested in NASA. Artwork must be RECEIVED at the Willye White Fieldhouse no later than Friday 13 November 2026. The window for delivering completed work began on 12 October 2026. Creative brief and artwork size Select one real active, planned or historical mission from the NASA missions directory and visually interpret its research, spacecraft, astronauts, discoveries or scientific objective. The entry must be an original two-dimensional FLAT work with maximum dimensions of 11 by 14 inches. Glitter is not permitted; dry media such as pencil or chalk must be protected in a sleeve. The rules do not affirm that an email-only file or digital animation qualifies. A student who designs digitally should ask the Council about acceptable original prints and the meaning of its original-art requirement before producing the final physical entry. Awards, voting and display The first prize is a US$100 gift card, second prize US$50 and third prize US$25. Entries will be available for public viewing from 14 November through midday 21 November 2026 at the Fieldhouse, with a virtual display and Rogers Park residents' voting facilitated on the Advisory Council website. The Council plans to announce award winners on Saturday 21 November at 3pm, at the park fieldhouse. How to submit and why the organisers are identifiable Parents or pupils should complete the official entry form and attach it to the art. Send or drop off the physical entry at Willye White Park (Art Contest), 1610 West Howard Street, Chicago, IL 60626. The organisers do not describe an entry fee. The Willye B. White Park Advisory Council is a community volunteer body working alongside Chicago Park District staff; it has a documented history of park arts programming, local youth activities, charity fundraising and other community projects. The original 2026 contest rules are posted on its own website rather than an unrelated image-upload platform. Original work and safeguarding Ensure the student creates the visual work personally, identifies the NASA mission and uses no unlicensed illustration or image where prohibited. The entry form determines how the student's name and parent/guardian contact details are collected. A local display and web vote are part of the competition; parents should check the visibility of their child's image and name before consenting. Willye B. - HASSRA Photography Competition 2026: Members Enter Faces, Transport or Sunsets by 1 November
HASSRA, a UK recreational association with member activities and competitions, has opened its 2026 virtual photography competition. It invites HASSRA members to enter original images in three categories: Sunsets/Sunrises, Faces and Transport. Entries close at midnight UK time on Sunday 1 November 2026. The organiser advertises awards up to £300, including a £50 overall-winner bonus; this is a member-only call, not a general public competition that any photographer can enter. Three themes and image eligibility Each HASSRA member may submit ONE photo in each of the three categories. Every photograph must have been taken DURING 2026, not in an earlier year. Images should be no larger than 1MB; the competition is conducted through electronic image submission. The official rules do not give a specific AI-image category, so participants should treat the call as an original photography competition and verify any use of generative or automated editing with the organiser rather than assuming it is allowed. Exact cash awards In each theme, first place receives £250, second place £150 and third place £100. The next three highest-ranked entries in that category receive £50 each. The overall HASSRA photography champion receives an ADDITIONAL £50, bringing the largest advertised individual total to £300. The small print says all prizes are paid through BACS; a winner cannot demand a substitute prize or payment method. Membership number and email submission Send your entries to hassraphotographycompetition@outlook.com. For each attached image provide your full name, HASSRA membership number, the region to which you belong and the photo's category. Valid HASSRA numbers begin with HAS and can be found by logging into HASSRA Live. No public application form for nonmembers is offered on the competition page. A UK regional field does not itself establish British-citizenship-only eligibility; we classify this as membership-restricted rather than nationality-restricted. Organiser, judging and history HASSRA is a UK members' sports and social association that operates recreational events, photographic competitions and its Livelife magazine. The official contest page identifies Liam Baillie of Scotland as the 2025 Urban Jungle category and overall winner, and directs visitors to its Flickr archive of earlier entrants. A panel of experts will judge anonymously after the closing date. The competition's repeated editions and publication channels are documented on the same institution's website. Publication rights and safety HASSRA says submitted images may be displayed on its Flickr pages, in the Livelife magazine and in other association channels; by entering, photographers consent to those stated publications. Entrants should make sure recognisable people depicted in their photos are appropriately informed and consult the full current terms before uploading. The competition has no separate advertised fee for each picture, but the prerequisite HASSRA membership is required. - Ashurst Wood 2026 Photo Calendar Competition: Village Residents Submit Digital Photos by 1 November
Ashurst Wood Village Council in West Sussex is inviting residents to enter a photographic competition celebrating the village throughout the seasons. Selected landscape photographs will appear in an Ashurst Wood village calendar. It is a local community image-making opportunity open to residents of all ages and ability levels, not an internationally open photo prize. Resident-only eligibility and deadline The competition is explicitly open to all residents of Ashurst Wood. Entrants can use a DSLR, mirrorless camera, mobile phone or tablet, and must be able to identify where and when each image was taken. The closing date is Sunday 1 November 2026. Images can show village views and streets, changing seasons, local wildlife, landmarks and community life, including scenes in the surrounding area. Entrants should confirm that they currently meet the village-residency requirement. Digital file, composition and submission rules Photos must be in LANDSCAPE orientation and high enough resolution for printing a wall calendar. Each photographer may send no more than FIVE submissions. Images must be original, taken by the entrant and not previously competition winners. Photos should generally be taken during the 2026 competition period; the council permits winter images from recent years, which is a specific exception. The rules do not set a universal pixel count or single mandatory digital file extension, so entrants should preserve high-quality files and ask about formats if uncertain. Image editing, people and AI Basic crop, exposure and colour adjustment are allowed. Heavy digital manipulation and AI-generated pictures are expressly prohibited. When the image contains children or other clearly identifiable people, the photographer should obtain appropriate consent; the council specifically requires parental consent for photographs of children. The original copyright remains with the entrant, who grants the Village Council permission to reproduce selected photographs in the calendar, related publicity, its website, social channels and parish publications. How to send photographs This is a digital-submission-only call. Email images directly to rob.bright@ashurstwood-vc.gov.uk and include the photographer's name, the photo's location and the month or season of capture. Do not send an image to unofficial social accounts or assume that uploading it to a public gallery counts as entry. The organiser will choose images for seasonal balance, composition, quality and representation of Ashurst Wood. The organiser and award Ashurst Wood Village Council is the local civic body for the village. Its official website publishes council meetings, community facilities, parish announcements and the photo-calendar call, making the organiser and community purpose identifiable. Selected photographers will be credited and receive a complimentary copy of the finished village calendar. A cash award has not been advertised; the value here is selection and local publication. - Pewsey Unseen 2027 Photo Exhibition: Digital JPG and PNG Entries Due 1 December
Pewsey Parish Council in Wiltshire is accepting digital photographs for Pewsey Unseen: A Portrait of Place, a new 2027 community exhibition. The project looks for small, unexpected images that reveal the village and surrounding Vale in a different light. Photographers of all ages and abilities are invited to interpret the theme, and the Council's published invitation focuses on photographs of Pewsey rather than professional credentials. Entry window and subject The submission period runs from 1 September to 1 December 2026. The central theme is Pewsey Unseen, including overlooked details, local weather, changing landscapes, patterns, textures, unfamiliar corners and fleeting scenes of village life. The official call welcomes people who live, work and know the area, but does not explicitly say they MUST be Pewsey residents. Because eligibility is not clearly restricted, this announcement is not classified as a resident-only competition. Digital photo requirements Upload or email an attached JPEG/JPG or PNG photograph no larger than 10MB, with a minimum of 2,000 pixels along its longest side. The Council requests the sRGB colour profile and excludes HEIC, RAW and other unprocessed formats. Every entry requires a photograph title, a description of at most 100 words, the creator's name and contact information (email or phone). Smartphone photographs are acceptable if exported to the requested JPG or PNG file type. Prize and online gallery The winning photograph will be displayed as the main banner image on Pewsey Parish Council's website during part of 2027. The best ten entries will appear in the Council's online community gallery. The published prize is exposure and inclusion in the exhibition; the official call does not advertise a cash prize, so applicants should not expect a guaranteed honorarium. Local organiser and preceding event Pewsey Parish Council is the elected body that works with local community groups and village facilities. It identifies a previous community photo activity, Unexpected Pewsey, as the predecessor to Pewsey Unseen and intends the 2027 show to become an annual visual record of the village and Vale. The Council gives a public office at Bouverie Hall and a telephone contact, and it hosts the entry requirements on its own domain. Submitting and licensing Email your photograph to the submission address displayed on the Council's official competition page. Since the source page protects the email address from automatic copying, use the clickable email link there instead of an address reproduced by a third-party directory. Participants should read the Council's usage, rights and consent details and verify any identifiable-person permission before sending images. No unrelated fee-payment page is part of this official call. Pewsey Parish Council — official Pewsey Unseen 2027 photography call and technical rules This article provides a summary. - Westmorland and Furness Together Through the Lens 2026: Local Photos Due 1 November
Westmorland and Furness Council in North West England is inviting local residents, workers and students to contribute digital photographs and brief personal stories to its free Together Through the Lens community project. Selected images form part of a permanent online gallery and a local touring exhibition, aiming to document the people and places of the council area rather than rank pictures in a conventional cash-prize photography competition. Eligibility and deadline Individual entrants must live, work or study in Westmorland and Furness. That geographical affiliation is a mandatory local restriction: photographers with no connection to the district are not eligible simply because they can email a photo. The submission deadline is Sunday 1 November 2026. The project opened for entries on 1 October, with the online gallery scheduled to open on 16 November and community exhibitions beginning 30 November, subject to changes. Digital format, number of photographs and text Individuals may submit up to three original photographs in JPG/JPEG format, no more than 10MB for each image. Screenshots are specifically excluded. Each image should have a title, the location where it was taken and a short explanation or personal story of at most 100 words. The subject can be family and friendships, community activities, hobbies, landmarks, local wildlife or everyday moments that express why the area matters to the participant. Originality, consent and rights Photographers retain their copyright, and participation is free. Entrants must obtain consent from people recognisable in images where legally or ethically appropriate; photos of children under 18 require parental or guardian permission. The Council's full project conditions and privacy notice apply to the online gallery and exhibition. This is not a request for a proprietary RAW file, and an Instagram-only post is not a substitute for the specified online submission process. About the organizer and public exhibit Westmorland and Furness Council is the local authority for the area including South Cumbria. The project is supported and funded by the Westmorland and Furness Community Safety Partnership, which brings local bodies together around safer, stronger communities. Together Through the Lens is designed to build a lasting visual record of belonging, community pride and shared identity. The Council hosts the primary conditions and individual submission link on its own website. How to enter Use the official individual submission form linked from the Council page; groups and charities have a separate organisation submission route. Prepare up to three compressed JPG files and stories before starting, and check that contact and media permissions are accurate. Applications are subject to the Council's terms; the announcement does not claim a prize payment for every accepted work.
