Anibar 2027 Kosovo: International Animation, Experimental Films and VR Open Call, $5 Entry by 31 March
Open call and fees
The Anibar International Animation Festival in Peja, Kosovo, is accepting films from around the world for its 2027 edition until 31 March 2027. The current FilmFreeway listing specifies a US$5 submission fee. Its programme connects animated cinema with public screenings, professional workshops, discussions and experimental media.
Host and artistic disciplines
The festival is run by Anibar, an independent cultural organisation based in Kosovo. International animated shorts and student films are competitive categories; experimental animation, animated documentaries, commissioned works and virtual-reality experiences are also welcomed through separate, in some cases non-competitive, festival strands.
Film eligibility
For general competition categories, films should have been completed after 1 January 2026. Exceptions may apply to experimental films, animated documentaries, commissioned work and VR; consult each category's current terms. Films can combine computer-generated animation, frame-by-frame techniques and live action. VR work can include installation, interactive and non-linear formats.
Rights and restrictions
Submitting a film does not guarantee selection, a cash prize or reimbursement for travel to Kosovo. The separate Balkan competition is geographically limited and cannot be treated as a worldwide division. Applicants must own exhibition rights, supply suitable screeners, manage music permissions and follow the festival's technical delivery and subtitle requirements.
