ANIMATOR 2027 in Poznań: Free Worldwide Animation Submissions, €11,000 Short Film Prize, 12 January Deadline
The international call
Poland's International Animated Film Festival ANIMATOR accepts entries for its 2027 competitions until 12 January 2027. The organiser permits submissions without an entry fee via FilmFreeway. The festival is scheduled in Poznań for 3–11 July 2027 and includes international short films, feature films and animated series.
Festival and recognition
ANIMATOR is an established Polish festival devoted to animation and moving-image culture. Its international short competition is Oscar-qualifying: the winning Golden Pegasus film can enter the Academy Awards qualification path, but an award does not itself guarantee a nomination. A separate Polish competition has national production criteria and is not open to every foreign film.
Eligibility and film formats
International short films may run up to 40 minutes, must be at least 51% animated and must have been completed after 31 December 2024. Feature films run longer than 40 minutes and there is a separate competition for animated series. The organiser excludes ordinary trailers and commercials from the short-film division and requires the submitter to hold screening rights.
Prizes and rights
The short-film Grand Prix carries €11,000 gross, with a €650 gross special award for Best Music Film or Best Film Music. The international feature prize is €8,000 gross, and the animated series prize is €1,250 gross. These are separate categories, not cumulative payments to every film. Consult the official detailed rules on screening licences, subtitles, production year and taxes before uploading.
