Anthology Photography Competition 2026: €500 First Prize, Worldwide Entries Until 30 November
The 2026 Anthology Photography Competition invites one strong photographic image on the theme ‘The World As You See It’. Photographers of any age, nationality and professional level may participate. The regular entry fee is €18 per photograph from May 1 through November 30, 2026. The overall winner receives €500 and editorial coverage in a future issue of Anthology magazine. This is an image prize, not a paid residency or an exhibition guarantee for every entrant.
An open theme with many photographic genres
The organizer accepts street, landscape, nature, macro, lifestyle, still-life, architectural and other kinds of photography. The strongest applications should show an original personal response to the stated theme rather than simply technical perfection. Abstract photographs, panoramas, stitched images and composites can qualify if they meet the photography and originality rules.
Strict generative-AI restriction
The rules expressly prohibit generative AI in submitted images, even though conventional manipulated or composite photography is accepted. Stock imagery and work whose rights have already been sold or licensed incompatibly are also barred. Each paid entry is ONE image; photographers may submit multiple entries, but each entry is separate. Entrants must remove visible watermarks or signatures to preserve anonymity during judging.
Technical specifications and the actual price
For initial entry, files must be JPEG or PNG at 72 dpi and no more than 4 MB. Finalists must be prepared to supply a high-resolution RAW, JPEG or TIFF original at 300 dpi later. The regular fee is €18 per submitted image through November 30, 2026 and is not refundable. The entry form is online through Anthology Awards, and fee payment is part of the submission process.
Copyright and promotional permissions
Artists retain copyright in their photographs. However, finalists grant Anthology a defined right to use those images, digitally and in print, to promote the magazine and its awards. Read that license before submitting and verify that you control the necessary copyright, model releases and property permissions. The organizer says it will credit photographers and avoid making high-resolution website downloads freely available.
