The 2027 Fellowship Awards
Artist Trust is accepting applications for its 2027 Fellowship Awards. It plans to offer 15 unrestricted awards of $10,000 each to practicing artists in Washington State. All artistic disciplines are eligible, so qualified artists working with digital media, experimental video or computational art may apply. This is an all-disciplines fellowship, not a digital-art-only prize.
Who is eligible
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, reside in Washington State both when applying and at the time of payment, and create original art. The program is intended for artists with a developed practice and evidence of continuing artistic work. Current undergraduate or graduate students, certain previous Artist Trust fellowship winners, and applicants representing a company or nonprofit are excluded; artist teams have additional conditions. Application and deadline
The official 2027 application opened October 5, 2026, and closes Monday, November 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST). Entries are accepted only through the Submittable application portal named in Artist Trust’s own guidelines. The requested materials include a short discipline statement (up to 50 words), biography (up to 150 words), artist statement (up to 350 words), and relevant work samples. The organization has published separate work-sample requirements.
About the organizer
Artist Trust is a Washington State nonprofit established in 1986 to support artists through grants and professional-development programs. Its Fellowship Awards date to 1987, and previous fellowship recipients have participated in the Meet the Fellows storytelling program. The organization also provides grant application workshops and other artist-support activities.
