British Council Connections Through Culture 2026

International collaboration grants for creative and cultural projects.

Application Fee / Participation Fee: No application fee is stated on the official British Council page.

Eligibility: Applications must involve collaboration between at least one UK-based partner and at least one partner based in an eligible participating country. Each partner must be legally based in the country they are applying from during application and throughout the project activity period. The official page lists participating countries including Mainland China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, UK, Ukraine, and others.

Project / Application Requirements: The programme supports creative practitioners, cultural professionals, artists, organisations, festivals, biennials, hubs, and collectives to develop and deliver projects across a range of themes and art forms. Projects must take place between December 2026 and December 2027, and successful applicants must not start funded activity or incur grant-funded costs before a grant agreement has been signed.

Prize / Benefits / Support: Grants of between 5,000 GBP and 15,000 GBP are available to support collaborative projects.

Application Method: Apply through the Good Grants application platform linked from the official British Council page.

Conditions / Notes: The official page says the programme incorporates grants programmes formerly known as Biennials Connect and Architecture, Design and Fashion Biennials and Festivals Grants, and is the British Council major Arts grants programme for 2026 in place of International Collaboration Grants.
