Updated: Oct 15
2026-10-15-EXTENSION-UPDATE — Update (15 October 2026): The organiser extended the submission deadline from 12 October to 19 October 2026, at 12:00 noon as stated in the official Italian notice. Applications are still open. This extension supersedes the earlier date elsewhere in this article.
Italy’s Ministry of Culture, through Digital Library and its Directorate-General for Digitalisation and Communication, is accepting submissions for Ecomic Digital Art Award 2026. The theme concerns the future of digital cultural heritage.
Eligibility and artworks
Adults applying individually or in groups, and legally constituted entities, may enter regardless of nationality or residence. Each applicant may submit one artwork, completed before submission. Eligible forms include still images, animation, audiovisual, generative and data-based works. Entries using generative AI must clearly explain the artist’s creative and design contribution.
Deadline and application
Applications close on 19 October 2026 at 12:00, with the official announcement specifying CET. Submit the required documents by certified email (PEC), or ordinary email if you do not have PEC, using the addresses on the official page.
Possible purchase
Digital Library may purchase works through a separate subsequent procedure. The stated amounts for the top three works are €4,900, €3,100 and €2,000, before tax charges. A place in the ranking does not guarantee a purchase.
