Rencontres Audiovisuelles, the French cultural association behind Video Mapping Festival, has launched its 2027 Video Mapping Contest. For the festival's tenth edition, selected artists will develop architectural projection works for the facade of the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille. The opening screenings are planned for 9–10 April 2027. The organizing association also produces audiovisual events, educational projects and mapping showcases across the Hauts-de-France region.
Eligible artistic disciplines
The international invitation covers both professional and student applicants working in projection mapping, animation, audiovisual art, digital design, graphic design, stage design, video games, music or sound design. Applicants do not simply submit a past short film for an ordinary film award. The contest asks them to propose new site-specific mapping artworks designed to interact with the geometry and architectural character of a prominent museum facade.
