  • Queens Arts Fund 2027 Arts Access Grant: $5,000–$10,000 for Local Art Groups

NYFA's 2027 Queens Arts Fund (QAF) Arts Access Grant will accept applications through Tuesday 17 November 2026 at 5:00pm Eastern Time. This funding category supports community-based nonprofit arts organizations and unincorporated artist collectives bringing public arts and cultural programmes to Queens residents. Projects may involve any artistic discipline, including digital and electronic arts or interdisciplinary media projects, provided they deliver suitable public engagement. This is a different programme from the individual-artist New Work Grant. Who can apply? Eligible organisations must be US 501(c)(3) nonprofits with IRS documentation; unincorporated artist collectives may also apply. Each applicant must have existed for at least one year and have had an operating budget below $100,000 in at least two of the previous three years. Applicants must be located in Queens and provide evidence of a Queens address. Registered for-profit businesses, public-sector agencies and full-time degree-seeking student lead applicants are not eligible. The programme also excludes recipients of Arts Access funding for three consecutive years from 2024 to 2026, and applicants seeking certain other NYC Department of Cultural Affairs funding for the same fiscal year. An applicant cannot apply for both the 2027 Arts Access and New Work grants. A lead applicant aged at least 18 by 31 December 2026 coordinates the application. What can a media arts group propose? Grant requests range from $5,000 to $10,000. Projects must include a public component in Queens during calendar year 2027 that enables neighbourhood audiences to experience the work. The formal guidelines mention exhibitions, workshops, screenings, performances and festivals as possible formats; an eligible media-art programme may use physical or virtual presentation. Where a project is delivered online, it must include live public participation such as an artist talk, guided viewing or Q&A targeted at Queens communities. Merely posting an artwork or recording online does not meet this requirement. NYFA particularly assesses the project's community engagement, artistic quality and realistic delivery arrangements, including the budget and public-access plan. How and when to apply The 2027 applications opened on 22 September 2026 and close on 17 November 2026 at 5pm ET through the NYFA Submittable portal. Applicants may submit only one QAF application for 2027. The submission asks for organisational history, funding eligibility documents, the proposed public programme, budget and artistic supporting materials. Applicants are also required to watch an information session or attend one live. • Queens Arts Fund 2027 New Work Grant: $3,000–$7,500 for Local Digital Artists

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is accepting applications for its 2027 Queens Arts Fund: New Work Grant until Tuesday 17 November 2026 at 5:00pm Eastern Time. The programme supports new artwork by emerging Queens-based individual artists and unincorporated artist collectives. NYFA explicitly lists Digital/Electronic Arts among its eligible artistic disciplines, alongside interdisciplinary, sound and other arts. It is not a grant exclusively for digital work. Who is eligible in Queens? An individual applicant must live in Queens, New York City, or have a full-time studio lease there; a post-office box does not establish residency. A collective must nominate one Queens-based lead applicant who meets the individual rules and will administer the funding. Applicants must be at least 18 by 31 December 2026. US citizenship is not required, although recipients must provide appropriate US tax identification documentation. Full-time degree-seeking students are ineligible, as are recipients of the 2026 Queens Arts Fund New Work Grant. The New Work Grant is for individuals and unincorporated collectives, not registered nonprofit organizations. The other Queens Arts Fund programme, Arts Access, has different eligibility rules and cannot be applied to concurrently by the same applicant in 2027. Projects and public presentation The requested grant amount is $3,000–$7,500. The project must create a work not previously presented to an audience, with its activities taking place from 1 January to 31 December 2027. It also needs a public component in Queens during 2027, such as an exhibition, performance, screening or workshop. Virtual presentations are possible when they include a live component such as an artist talk or Q&A for a Queens audience; an uploaded video or online gallery alone is insufficient. Funding may cover artist fees, project materials, technical assistance and qualifying equipment or software for virtual programming within item limits. The project budget must also show other funding or in-kind support amounting to at least 10% of project expenses; the fund cannot be the sole supporter of the project. Deadline and application Applications opened on 22 September 2026 and close on 17 November 2026 at 5pm ET through NYFA's Submittable portal. Applicants provide project and public-engagement descriptions, a realistic budget, evidence of Queens eligibility and work samples. NYFA requires applicants to attend or watch an information session. • Creative Australia Four Year Investment 2029–32: Experimental Arts Groups Pre-Apply by 27 October

Creative Australia is accepting pre-applications for Four Year Investment for Organisations 2029–32. The programme supports established small and medium-sized Australian arts and cultural organisations over four years. Its arts-practice panels include Experimental and emerging arts, Multi arts and Visual arts, making it potentially relevant to organisations presenting digital installations, interactive art or other technology-based artistic programmes. It is not a digital-art-only grant. First deadline: 27 October 2026 The current opportunity is a compulsory eligibility pre-application, not the final funding submission. Pre-applications close on Tuesday 27 October 2026 at 3:00 pm AEDT. New users must register for Creative Australia's application management system before 10:00 am AEDT on Monday 26 October. Eligible organisations will later receive access to the full application, expected by mid-November 2026; those applications close on 6 April 2027 at 3:00 pm AEST. Who is eligible in Australia? Applicants must be legally constituted organisations based in Australia. Individuals, informal groups, trusts and organisations not legally constituted in Australia cannot apply. The pre-application ordinarily requires evidence of at least two eligible Creative Australia project grants since January 2021, or qualifying multi-year investment in 2017–28. Creative Australia may consider other regular project or multi-year investment histories in limited circumstances. Other core thresholds include average annual revenue of at least AUD 100,000 (excluding GST) over the previous three years, at least two years of legal incorporation and cultural programming, and a clear documented governance structure. Supporting materials include recent audited accounts or equivalent, a governance document and a recent programme of activities. Funding scale and artistic practice Successful organisations may be invited to apply for AUD 100,000–550,000 per year for activity across 1 January 2029 to 31 December 2032. These are the permissible request bounds, not guaranteed awards. Eligible organisations may nominate up to two arts-practice panels at pre-application stage, with Experimental and emerging arts among them. Creative Australia's experimental arts guidance explicitly includes artistic projects that explore technology, science, collaboration, new methodologies and non-traditional materials. The programme assesses the organisation's broader artistic record and four-year vision, rather than accepting isolated artworks from individuals. Organisations working with interactive, generative or mixed-media art should therefore refer to both the investment eligibility and the relevant panel's practice guidance. • Portland Arts Project Grant 2026: Local Digital and Media Artists Can Apply by 28 October

The Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) is accepting applications for the Portland Arts Project Grant (PAPG) FY27 through 28 October 2026. This City of Portland-supported funding opportunity is open across creative disciplines. For eligible local digital and media artists, a project involving public-facing exhibitions, interactive work, screenings or accessible online presentation may fit—but PAPG is an all-arts grant, not a grant reserved for digital art. Two different funding categories The General Fund category provides awards from $1,000 to $5,000. It is open to eligible individual artists, artist teams, arts businesses, arts-focused organizations and applicants with appropriate fiscal sponsorship. This is the category most individual digital and media artists will want to examine first. The separate Arts Access Fund category provides $1,000 to $10,000. It is restricted to qualifying schools and nonprofit organizations whose projects serve K–12 students and/or underserved communities as defined by Portland City Council. Applicants may choose only one of these categories, so do not assume the higher award ceiling applies to individual artist applications. Strict Portland residency or headquarters requirement Applicants must legally reside or be headquartered within the City of Portland's service area, not merely somewhere in Oregon. A physical address within Portland city limits is required and should be checked through Portland Maps. A P.O. box does not establish eligibility. An artist or organization based outside the city does not become eligible solely by planning to present work there; an eligible Portland applicant may, however, collaborate with people based elsewhere. Currently enrolled students and organizations already receiving the City Office of Arts & Culture's Operating Support are excluded from either PAPG category. The Arts Access Fund has additional nonprofit and service requirements. Applicants are allowed one PAPG application, while involvement as a collaborator on separate proposals may be possible. What does public engagement mean for digital work? PAPG funds artistic creation and development linked to one or more opportunities for the public to engage with the project. Depending on the proposal, this could mean a physical exhibition, screening, performance, open workshop or another community-facing event. Online presentation can also count, according to RACC's FAQ, but the application must describe a specific, accessible and credible distribution and engagement plan. Simply making a digital artwork privately, or assuming that uploading it somewhere is sufficient, would overlook this important requirement. The applicant should explain who will experience the work, how they will access it and how meaningful public participation will occur. Application dates and process Applications opened on 1 September 2026 and close on 28 October 2026 at 11:59 p.m., as shown on RACC's programme page. Funding decisions will be announced by 31 March 2027, and recipients must claim funds by 30 June 2027. Applications are handled through the RACC Opportunity Portal; an account sign-in is needed to view and submit the available programme application. Before applying, use the General Fund or Arts Access Fund guidelines for the correct funding category, confirm the exact city address eligibility, and prepare a detailed account of the project's artistic purpose, public engagement and requested budget. • Oregon Media Arts Fellowship 2026: Two $5,000 Grants for Oregon Digital Artists

The Oregon Media Arts Fellowship is accepting applications from media artists who are legally domiciled in Oregon, United States. The award is provided by the Oregon Arts Commission and overseen by the Portland Art Museum's Center for an Untold Tomorrow (PAM CUT). It supports outstanding media artists in creating or completing new work or work already in progress. Two $5,000 fellowships for media artists Two fellowships of $5,000 each will be awarded. No matching funds are required. Funding is competitive, and the organiser notes that not every eligible applicant will receive support. The official guidance says awards are paid within two months of award notification. This opportunity concerns artistic practice using moving images, sound, digital technologies and time-based or interactive media. The programme explicitly welcomes animation, experimental and documentary film, video art, sound and audio work, web-based art, digital works, immersive and interactive media, and augmented, virtual and mixed reality. Digital artists should choose work samples that clearly demonstrate an original artistic practice rather than assuming a particular technology alone establishes suitability. Who is eligible? Oregon residence matters Applicants must be at least 18 years old. They must currently reside in Oregon and have been legally domiciled in the state for at least one year when applying. This is a local US opportunity for Oregon artists, not an international open call. Citizenship is not identified as the deciding criterion on the published eligibility page; the explicit geographical test is current Oregon residency and domicile. Applicants must not be enrolled, full time or part time, in a creative degree-bearing programme. They also must not have received this Media Arts Fellowship or any Oregon Arts Commission Fellowship within the preceding five years. Only one fellowship application may be submitted per year. Joint applications are allowed, but one joint application counts as a single award: a successful team would split the $5,000 among its members. Artists working collaboratively should review how each collaborator meets the programme's rules before submitting. Application materials and work samples The online application asks for three short written responses: an artistic statement describing your media-arts practice; your intent, motivation or core themes; and the directions you hope to explore in future work. The guidelines specify a maximum of 1,500 characters for each response. Submit an artist resume as a PDF of no more than two pages, together with up to ten work samples. The artist resume and samples must be accessible through one publicly viewable URL, such as a shared Dropbox or Google Drive folder or Vimeo album. For audio and video material combined, the recommended submissions must not exceed 20 minutes in total. Ensure that reviewers can access any password-protected files and understand your role in collaborative productions. The fellowship review considers artistic and aesthetic quality, sustained professional achievement, and the potential for future contributions to media art. Samples of completed and in-progress artistic work should be clearly described and presented for assessment. Application deadline: November 15, 2026 The organiser's application form specifies a deadline of November 15, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Applicants submitting from outside Oregon should confirm the relevant time zone on the official application page and avoid filing at the last minute. The application is available directly on the Portland Art Museum website. Official information and submission This article provides a summary. To avoid misunderstandings, please be sure to check the official page for full details. Information verified: October 12, 2026. Eligibility jurisdiction: Oregon, United States. Publication language: English. A related competition for digital artists Aion Laboratory separately organises the Aion Digital Art Prize for digital and media art. Its eligibility, submission calendar and entry terms are independent of the Oregon Media Arts Fellowship and must be checked separately. • LMCC Creative Engagement 2027: Manhattan Digital and Media Art Projects Eligible

The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) is accepting applications for Creative Engagement, a 2027 Manhattan Arts Grants programme funding public arts projects in Manhattan. The opportunity is open across artistic disciplines, not solely digital art: media artists, moving-image practitioners and creators of digital installations can assess eligibility when their proposals include a suitable public-facing presentation. Who is eligible? Creative Engagement is a local programme for Manhattan-based individual artists, collectives and eligible nonprofit arts organisations in Manhattan Community Districts 1–12. It is not an unrestricted international residency or an opportunity for artists anywhere in the world. Prospective applicants should check the programme-specific eligibility quiz and current official guidelines, including address, organisation type and funding history requirements. The programme supports projects that connect with communities in Manhattan. Proposals should identify a public event or engagement component to be held in Manhattan in the period January–December 2027, rather than a purely private studio project. Grant amount and dates LMCC lists a 2027 Creative Engagement award range of $1,000 to $20,000. Applications opened on 8 September 2026 and must be submitted by 12 November 2026 at 6:00pm Eastern Standard Time (New York local time). The organiser lists 5 April 2027 as the notification date. The award depends on eligibility, available funding sources and a competitive assessment. What kinds of digital or media-art projects may fit? The programme funds public arts programming such as exhibitions, public art, screenings, performances, festivals and workshops. For digital-media artists, the important distinction is between a public event or audience-facing experience and producing digital content with no public presentation. Site-specific or interactive media-art exhibitions, public screenings and artist-led events may fit, subject to the complete rules and project specifics. The Creative Engagement FAQ explains that making an app, video or audio work only to upload it online, with no active public engagement with the artist or work, is ineligible. Online programming must address an audience-engagement need and enable real-time or active participation. The programme also clarifies that standalone media/new-media projects do not qualify for the Howard Gilman Foundation component of the funding; this restriction should not be confused with a blanket ban on applying to Creative Engagement through other eligible funding streams. Application and supporting information LMCC uses the Submittable platform for applications. The organiser publishes separate guidance and application previews in English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, while the application itself and live support are conducted in English. Applicants should prepare a clear public-project description, activity dates, creative team, suitable examples of prior artistic work and a realistic project budget, following the current forms and guidelines. An eligibility quiz at the start of the application helps identify possible funding streams. Eligible applicants should choose the Project Funding track rather than the separate Creative Unrestricted programme, which is limited to performing arts and has different conditions. Official programme and application This article provides a summary. To avoid misunderstandings, please be sure to check the official page for full details. Information verified: 12 October 2026. A related opportunity for digital artists Aion Laboratory also organises the Aion Digital Art Prize, a separate competition for digital and media art. Its entry rules and schedule are independent of LMCC's local funding opportunity. Submit a listing Paid arts opportunity listings can be requested through Ise-Shima Art, the company behind Aion Laboratory. The English listing enquiry is hosted on the company's Ise-Shima Art site.

  • Arts Council Digital Artist in Residence at University of Limerick 2026–27: Ireland-Only Call

Ireland's Arts Council and the Digital Media and Arts Research Centre (DMARC) at the University of Limerick are accepting applications for a Digital Artist in Residence appointment for the 2026–27 academic year. This six-month programme supports a professional digital artist's practice while connecting the artist with the university's digital-arts research, facilities and student community. Eligibility: resident in the Republic of Ireland The call is intended for mid-career and established artists with a demonstrable digital-arts track record, expertise and professional practice. Applicants must be resident in the Republic of Ireland. It is therefore a domestic opportunity for artists based in Ireland, rather than an open call for applicants worldwide. Eligible applicants should also ensure that the activities they propose for the residency have not already received Arts Council or other public funding. The organiser's current application guidelines set out the formal conditions and required evidence in full. Residency period, funding and activities The scheme advertises a maximum award of €18,000. The residency is a six-month appointment during the 2026–27 academic year. The selected artist will have access to DMARC space and technical facilities at the University of Limerick, and is expected to contribute to student engagement, knowledge-sharing and outreach for up to four hours per week. The call covers digital artistic practice rather than a single software platform or technique. DMARC's research environment brings together digital media and arts; the applicant's artistic work, project approach and engagement with the academic community form part of the selection context. The official guidelines govern the precise residency duties, payment arrangements and eligible activities. Application deadline and documents Applications close on Friday, 23 October 2026 at 17:30 Irish local time. The current Arts Council listing identifies the University of Limerick opportunity as open and supplies the application guidelines and a contact email. Applications are submitted by email following those guidelines; the submission address, attachments and formatting requirements should be taken from the current 2026–27 documentation rather than from older programme materials. The scheme is for an individual artist. Applicants should prepare the material and evidence prescribed in the latest organiser-issued guidelines, including information about their digital practice and the proposed residency activities. Official call and guidelines This article provides a summary. To avoid misunderstandings, please be sure to check the official page for full details. Information verified: October 12, 2026. Our related competition The Aion Digital Art Prize is a separate international competition for digital and media art. Its rules accept qualifying works that have previously been exhibited or awarded; its eligibility, dates and fees are independent of this residency. What selected artists must deliver Residents must contribute to online sessions, present their work at the final Sunderland exhibition and symposium, and prepare a research report of at least 2,000 words for an online publication. These requirements, the venue attendance, access arrangements, and grant terms should be checked against the organiser’s full application guidelines.
