- Ottawa Creation and Production Fund 2027: C$10,000–15,000 for Local Visual and Digital Artists
An individual artist's creation and production scheme The City of Ottawa's Creation and Production Fund for Artists has a 2027 deadline of 2 December 2026. It is for individual professional creators, unlike the municipal Arts Funding Program that focuses on organisations and collectives. Eligible visual, media and interdisciplinary artists may seek money to create an original work or produce and present their own independent piece. A creation request can be as much as C$10,000; a production request can be as much as C$15,000. These are different project types within one competitive fund, not a guarantee that an applicant can obtain both awards. Local residence is compulsory Applicants must be at least 18 years old and currently live in the City of Ottawa, with specific additional territorial eligibility for qualifying Anishinabe Algonquin Nation members living within the prescribed 150-km radius. Artists must show training through study, apprenticeship, mentorship or self-directed practice, professional recognition and a history of public presentation. For a two-person collaboration, both artists must meet the rules. An overseas visual artist cannot apply merely because their digital installation might be accessible online. Presentations of production projects must occur in the Ottawa or eligible Algonquin areas described in the rules. The difference between a creation budget and a production budget Creation projects cover the development of new work through experimentation, research and original artmaking; living costs during creation may be eligible. Production projects focus on preparing and showing completed original work through exhibitions, screenings and other presentations, with the applicant retaining independent creative control. The scheme does not cover buying computers, software or instruments, commercial mass reproduction, travel grants, ordinary professional training or marketing unrelated to the permitted project category. Applicants should choose the right 2027 budget template, ensure revenues and costs balance, and specify any self-funding. The application has a question about use of AI For 2027 the city explicitly asks whether the proposed work will use artificial intelligence tools, and if so, how. Digital, motion-graphics and experimental artists should describe their methods honestly rather than assuming that all AI-assisted work is forbidden or automatically eligible. Supporting documents include work samples, relevant artistic CVs, an original-project description, schedule, budget and a public-access plan. The application must reach the city's official online portal by Wednesday 2 December 2026 at 4pm Ottawa local time. Applicants should not wait until the last two days to obtain submission support. Organising authority and funding safeguards Ottawa's Cultural Funding Support Unit administers local cultural grants under a municipal policy revised in March 2025. Its public documents explain selection by peer assessors, artistic merit, local impact, viability and financial need; official funding reports identify recipients from previous years. Grants depend on municipal budget approval, and earlier recipients must complete reporting before reapplying. Use only the city government's current funding page and its linked secure portal before sharing project files and identity information. - EMAF 2027 Expanded: Free Global Performance, VR and Live Media-Art Call, €500 Fee for Selected Works
Expanded performance and live-art call The 40th European Media Art Festival (EMAF) in Osnabrück, Germany, invites artists worldwide to submit performances, live media-art projects, VR-based live work and workshops to its 2027 Expanded programme. Unlike EMAF's Film category, which selects experimental screenings, or Installation, which selects gallery pieces, Expanded proposals are considered for either the performance programme or the talks and workshops programme according to their format. The festival runs 21–25 April 2027 and its exhibition continues until 23 May. Organiser Experimentalfilm Workshop e.V. has a long track record as an independent media-arts institution. Free entry and the 2,200-entry cap Entering is free, using the official EMAF Filmchief portal. Although 15 December 2026 is the latest stated deadline, the open call shuts earlier once a combined total of 2,200 submissions has been reached. Each artist can register no more than two works, completed in 2026 or 2027; works previously submitted to EMAF cannot be resubmitted. A world premiere is not required. Entries on DVDs or other physical media will not be considered. If the original language of submitted material is not English, English subtitles are required for screening by the selectors. Selected artists' €500 fees and support Expanded applications must contain a detailed project description, a technical rider, a cost calculation and visual supporting material. Proposals should therefore specify the live setup, collaborators, equipment needs, duration and production feasibility rather than treating the programme as a general video competition. The official 2027 regulations state a €500 artist fee for each selected installation or Expanded project, with production costs covered by the festival. Invited selected artists also receive free accreditation, three hotel nights (possibly more for installation work), and a contribution toward travel. Organiser and binding rules The €500 is not an application grant paid to everyone, and the travel contribution is not automatically unlimited flight reimbursement. Selection notices are expected by email from mid-March 2027. Artists must clear rights belonging to collaborators or other copyright owners and permit the festival to reproduce registration images and text for programme and promotion. Official organiser call: https://www.emaf.de/en/news/ ; official section form: https://emaf.filmchief.com/entry-forms ; complete 2027 rules: https://ff.emaf.de/files/docs/emaf-40_call-for-entries_regulations.pdf . Verify that the 2,200-entry cap has not already been reached before preparing the form.
- Experimental Photo Festival Barcelona 2027: Worldwide Photo-Art Exhibitions, €20 Entry by November 7
Open call and eligibility The eighth Experimental Photo Festival in Barcelona, organised by the Experimentalphotofestival Association, is inviting international photographers, visual artists and collectives for exhibitions during 21–25 July 2027. Eligible practices encompass analogue and alternative processes, digital and expanded photography, installations, video, sound, performance and interdisciplinary visual work. There is no set theme, nationality restriction or professional-experience requirement. Previously exhibited or awarded projects, work in progress and concepts needing adaptation to a new venue can be submitted. Entry dates and application cost Applications are accepted exclusively through the organiser's Picter entry system between 12 October and 7 November 2026, closing at 11:59 p.m. CET. Each project costs €20 to submit, nonrefundable; submitting multiple projects means paying separately for each. Up to ten images can accompany a project description, biography, artist portrait and technical or installation notes. Email submissions are not accepted. Once an application is sent, its documentation cannot be changed. Exhibition fees and selections Selection includes twelve solo exhibitions, additional places in a collective show, and twenty online features with Analog Forever Magazine. A selected solo exhibitor receives a €150 artist fee plus access to a festival-administered production budget of up to €200 for approved exhibition expenses. That €200 is not unrestricted money or an automatic reimbursement, and a valid invoice is required to receive the artist fee. Access to a diploma programme advertised as worth €999 is an in-kind educational benefit, not a cash award. Travel responsibilities and legal licence Selected exhibitors are expected to be physically in Barcelona for installation, the exhibition and dismantling. Flight, accommodation and shipment costs are generally their responsibility; priority accommodation access does not mean a free hotel. Copyright remains with artists, but submitted materials carry a broad worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive licence for festival-related promotion, educational and certain commercial activities. Check carefully before paying. Full organiser rules: https://site.picter.com/experimental-photo-festival-2027-barcelona/terms . Always confirm eligibility, fees and rights with the original organiser before applying.
- Touring Queensland Fund 2027: Up to A$100,000 for Travelling Visual Art and Design Exhibitions
Tour-ready exhibitions can travel with Arts Queensland support The Touring Queensland Fund supports professionally developed arts and cultural work reaching communities across the state. Its own guidelines explicitly include visual arts, craft and design, alongside performing arts, music and cultural heritage. A completed exhibition, designed display, artist-led visual work or community-focused touring concept may be eligible if it is packaged and ready for presentation. The programme is designed to deliver work across multiple communities, not to pay for the early creation of a completely unfinished digital installation or a one-off opening in an artist's home city. Funding limit: A$100,000 and no more than half the tour budget The regular grant is up to A$100,000 for one tour or a programme of touring lasting up to twelve months. The application may request no more than 50% of the eligible project costs, so a credible co-investment plan is essential. Up to A$10,000 additional support can be requested for disability and access costs if properly justified. Eligible spending can include artist and art-worker touring fees, travel, accommodation, freight, installation, technical support and community-engagement activity. Routine equipment purchases, unrelated marketing or operation, and pre-funded expenditure are among the listed exclusions. Queensland base and at least three destinations Applicants must be based in Queensland: an individual has to have their primary residence in the state, and a group or organisation must have a Queensland business address. Individual applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents aged over 18. An active ABN and suitable bank account are generally required, with published rules for approved auspicing arrangements. Touring must include at least three separate locations, excluding the touring party's home location. Different suburbs of one city do not count as separate destinations in the official FAQ, but separate towns within one council area may. Round 4 opens later: November 2026 to February 2027 As of 27 October 2026, Round 4 applications are not yet open. Arts Queensland lists an opening date of 30 November 2026 and a closing date of 8 February 2027 at 2pm Queensland time. The governing agency provides the online application via SmartyGrants and asks for CVs, up to three work examples and letters confirming participation or contributions from partners. Applicants should not use the deadlines from earlier 2026 rounds. The work must commence only after the relevant eligible activity start date and funding decision. About the organiser and past outcomes Arts Queensland, operating within the Queensland Government, delivers funding to widen access to arts and culture throughout the state. Its programme page links to previous recipient announcements and provides examples of regional touring and inclusion. Decisions consider artistic quality, audience impact, viable finances and sustainable community outcomes. Read the official guidelines and FAQs before planning a tour; a published maximum does not guarantee an individual exhibition will receive that amount. - Flying Arts Regional Arts Fund November 2026: Up to A$5,000 for Queensland Visual Artists
A quick-response fund for artists based outside metropolitan Queensland Flying Arts Alliance administers the Regional Arts Fund in Queensland on behalf of the Australian Government and Regional Arts Australia. Its Quick Response Grants help regional and remote artists respond to time-sensitive professional development or small cultural-project opportunities. The round opening on 1 November 2026 provides an option for visual artists, designers, illustrators and other arts practitioners who need limited but timely support. It is not an unrestricted international prize, nor is it the larger Regional Arts Fund Project Grants programme. Who qualifies and where projects must benefit Applicants must be artists, arts organisations or communities based in eligible regional and remote areas of Queensland under the MM2–7 classification system. The principal benefit cannot go to metropolitan MM1 applicants. The official eligibility tool and grant guidelines determine the precise address status; applicants should check their own locality instead of relying on a postal label such as 'regional'. This Queensland location requirement is why the call is published as a country-restricted English-language opportunity. Grants may involve visual, craft or digital creative work if the activity fits the scheme's arts and community purposes. A$3,000 for individuals, A$5,000 for organisations Quick Response Grants offer up to A$3,000 to an eligible individual and up to A$5,000 to an eligible organisation, with no minimum request specified. Suitable expenditure can include artist and arts-worker fees, materials, venue or equipment hire, travel and accessibility costs where appropriate. These are project or career-development funds, not an automatic payment for every artist with a portfolio. Equipment purchase has separate limits and should not be assumed eligible without checking the guidance. The applicant should explain why timing prevents the activity from being supported through a slower alternative programme. November 2026 is the final monthly round before the summer break The official 2026 schedule lists applications opening 1 November at 9am Queensland time and closing 30 November at 11:59pm. The indicated notification date is 7 December; eligible funded activities can start in the published project window from 14 December 2026. No Quick Response round runs in December or January. This article was prepared before the November form opens, so submitting today may not yet be possible. Application documents are processed through the official SmartyGrants link referenced on the Flying Arts website. The funder's history and due diligence The Regional Arts Fund provides roughly A$6 million annually across regional Australia, according to Flying Arts. The Queensland administrator publishes prior funded projects and case studies; its 2025 recipients include artmaking and exhibition projects across regional communities. Confirm your regional classification, ABN details where needed, budget, program guidelines and active November form through Flying Arts before providing financial or identity information. The funder's reported past grants do not constitute an offer of funding to a new applicant. - Young Designers Market Sydney 2026: Stallholder Call for Emerging Print, Fashion and Visual Designers
An artist-run selling opportunity in Paddington, Sydney Young Designers Market is seeking stallholders for its next event on Saturday 21 November 2026 from 10am to 4pm at Paddington Markets, 395 Oxford Street, Sydney. The market presents younger makers and original design brands directly to buyers. It is relevant to illustrators, printmakers, independent designers, makers of art objects and experimental fashion or jewellery, as well as creators of decorative and functional products. This is a paid market-stall selection opportunity, not a residency, artwork acquisition or grant. The organiser's precise birth-year and originality rules According to the current organiser profile, applicants must have been born in 1996 or later. All goods for sale must have been designed by the applicant rather than sourced wholesale and re-sold as someone else's creations. The market may consider arts, crafts, clothing, jewellery, prints, homewares and other proposed products on a case-by-case basis. The public rules do not expressly make Australian nationality or residency a mandatory qualification. Accordingly, this entry is not counted toward the minimum quota for opportunities formally restricted to a single country. Preparing an application portfolio The official registration form requests images of the work intended for sale and sufficient information to demonstrate the brand and stall presentation. Applicants are encouraged to supply product photographs, examples of previous market layouts, an artist or business website and social profiles. Files need to be small enough for the submission system; the organiser warns that high-resolution uploads may fail. Entries are competitive and reviewed before a stall offer is made, so designers should not treat completing the application as a confirmed booking. Dates and fees: check current official information The public event date is 21 November 2026, but the application must be made earlier. The New South Wales Government's Neon Marketplace opportunity directory lists 6 November 2026 as the close of the stallholder expression-of-interest period. The organiser's own stallholder information page does not visibly publish a matching final date, so applicants should immediately confirm the current intake status and any cut-off time through the official form or contact address. A successful stallholder must prepay the assigned stall fee within seven days of approval; do not assume participation is free. Market operation and organiser background Young Designers Market operates within the established Paddington Markets precinct in Sydney and publishes profiles of featured designers, handmade product brands and details of past markets. Standard 3m by 3m marquee stall spaces are described on the organiser's site. The event operates in varying weather; vendors need to understand applicable setup, insurance, refund and safety rules before committing. Always follow the application route and current terms on the organiser website before sending payments or business information. - Inner West Inclusion Festival 2026: Free Art and Craft Market Stalls at Ashfield Town Hall
Free stalls for original art, craft and design Inner West Council in Sydney is recruiting stallholders for 'I Should Be So Crafty', an art-and-craft market within its Inclusion Festival 2026. The public market takes place on Saturday 12 December at Ashfield Town Hall. Eligible displays can include artworks, independently designed products, crafts and other original making and creative presentation. Organisers explicitly state that stallholder spaces cost nothing, offering a way for creators to reach an audience without the usual market booking fee. This is a chance to show and sell work, not a cash grant, commission or residency. All may apply, but disability-led participation is specially encouraged The council welcomes expressions of interest from all stallholders and particularly encourages d/Deaf and disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill artists, makers and small business owners. It would misrepresent the call to state that every applicant must have a specific disability, as the official event information says applications for free stalls are open to all. Nor does the visible announcement set an explicit Australian citizenship or local-residency requirement. For that reason, the listing is not counted as a verified one-country-restricted call; participating requires practical ability to attend the in-person Sydney market and comply with the organiser's terms. Application deadline versus public event date Stallholder expressions of interest close on 7 November 2026 at 5pm local Sydney time. This is more than a month before the 12 December craft market itself and is the deadline artists need to plan against. Follow the application link on the official Inclusion Festival page and read any relevant conditions before supplying product information or contact details. The submission process is an expression of interest, so a submitted form does not guarantee a free stall or a particular location at the venue. Why this event matters for inclusive design and making The market is part of Inner West Council's annual programme marking the International Day of People with Disability, celebrated on 3 December. Its inclusion activities run from late November into December and seek to connect diverse creative communities. Makers of accessible products, illustration, independent editions, textiles, printed design and mixed-media art may find a natural context for the event, but should check the stalls' space, power and accessibility requirements directly with the council instead of assuming particular facilities are included. Organiser track record and official registration Inner West Council is a local government authority in Sydney and publicly coordinates the Inclusion Festival and disability-pride activities. Its 2025 community market provides a relevant example of the event's previous operation. The council's website is the source of the specific free-stall offer and deadline; applicants should be cautious of unofficial fee requests for a place advertised as free, and use only the EOI form linked from the current council announcement. - Rhoda Roberts Trailblazer Award 2027: A$80,000 for Established Australian First Nations Arts Leaders
A new national award honouring cultural leadership Creative Australia's Rhoda Roberts Trailblazer Award is a newly established category in the First Nations Arts and Culture Awards, to be presented for the first time in 2027. Valued at A$80,000 for one recipient, it honours the late Rhoda Roberts AO and recognises artists and cultural workers whose sustained work has created transformative opportunities for First Nations communities. Visual artists, curators and leaders in experimental and interdisciplinary arts may qualify alongside practitioners in music, theatre, writing and other disciplines. It is emphatically not a prize limited to digital images or a speculative portfolio competition. The nominated artist must meet a 25-year record requirement A nominee must identify as an Australian First Nations Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, be a living individual aged at least 18 when nominated, be based in Australia and have worked for more than 25 years in First Nations arts and culture as a recognised artist, cultural worker or sector leader. The evidence should cover the nominee's lasting impact, leadership, community opportunity creation, cultural authority and benefits to future generations. The award is aimed at experienced changemakers, not a general open call for emerging creators who have just graduated. A separate Australian nominator is required The nominee may not nominate themselves. An individual nominator must be at least 18 and resident in Australia, or the nominating body must be an organisation based in Australia. Nominees can be put forward in only one category of the 2027 First Nations Arts and Culture Awards. An overdue grant report or debts to Creative Australia can also affect the nominator's eligibility. This Australia-only nomination structure is a real legal and geographical limit; the award should not be advertised as open to any overseas visual artist. Supporting material, deadline and portal access The official nomination requires an extended biography or CV, work samples and up to four supporting letters from recognised creatives, cultural leaders or organisations. Support can be supplied as specified URLs or attachments subject to media and duration limits. Nominations opened 9 October 2026 and close Tuesday 1 December at 3pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time. The online Application Management System may require at least two business days to approve a new account, so nominating organisations should register in good time. The award ceremony is set for 27 May 2027. The public agency and assessment process Creative Australia is the national arts investment agency responsible for First Nations Arts and Culture Awards. It has published earlier award recipients and an explanation of the new Rhoda Roberts category. Eligible nominations first undergo a pre-check, then assessment by a First Nations industry advisory panel and a board determination. The official programme provides contact details for its First Nations Project Manager. Do not treat an intermediary email or third-party request for payment as the formal nomination process; follow the agency's own portal and current terms. - Studio 170 Germany 2027: Up to $1,500 travel support for New England visual and digital artists
Travel assistance for artists with a real German invitation Studio 170 | Germany is the Goethe-Institut Boston's travel support programme for creative professionals based in New England who plan to take part in a residency or collaborative artistic project in Germany in 2027. Eligible disciplines include visual art, multimedia and experimental practice as well as music, film, writing, theatre and dance. The support is not an open call for speculative tourist trips or a residency placement that the institute itself arranges. The central prerequisite is a confirmed invitation from an artistic partner, residency or institution in Germany. Who qualifies, and who should not apply? Applicants must be based in New England in the United States. The official description covers New England artists across artistic disciplines who are living and/or working in that region; a credible and confirmed German collaborator or host is essential. The programme expects a substantial stay, generally at least ten days, though no absolute minimum residency duration is imposed in its public description. Being a foreign applicant merely able to fly to Germany is insufficient, so this is a country-restricted opportunity for eligible US-region applicants and not a worldwide grant. Up to $1,500 reimbursed after expenses Successful applicants may claim reimbursement of up to $1,500 in relevant travel costs. Eligible cost examples include flights, accommodation, meals, visa expenses and necessary shipping of art materials. Costs that the German host is already covering cannot be reimbursed again. Original receipts are required, so artists should plan cash flow instead of assuming an advance stipend will appear before travel. The support is capped and will not necessarily pay for the complete international trip, production of a new digital artwork or installation expenses at the partner site. How to prepare a successful proposal The key materials are a motivation letter with a clear project description, the confirmed invitation from a collaborator or institution in Germany, a relevant artistic CV and a budget showing travel expenses plus other financial contributions. For artists producing installation, moving image or interactive media, the proposal should describe exactly what will be made together, who hosts the project and what is provided locally. Awardees must share material with Goethe-Institut Boston's public communication channels during the stay and then contribute to a public event in Boston or submit a final report. Deadline and independent track The official Goethe-Institut Boston call says that 2027 projects in Germany are open for applications until 22 November 2026. This is a different programme from Studio 170 | Residency, a two-week creative-space call taking place in Boston in 2027. Applicants should follow the specific online application link for the GERMANY travel scheme, confirm the current time zone, and check which files and proofs are mandatory before submission. An invitation alone does not mean the grant has been awarded. About the organiser The Goethe-Institut Boston supports cultural dialogue between Germany and the New England states. Studio 170 was established as a channel for artists to exchange ideas and develop transatlantic relationships. Its current public website lists previously supported Germany journeys and collaborations, including the work of visual artist and Boston University lecturer Gohar Dashti. These examples provide historical background, not a promise of funding for future applicants. - Massachusetts Cultural District Investment Grants FY27: $15,000 for designated districts and public art
Investment in designated Massachusetts cultural areas Mass Cultural Council's FY27 Cultural District Investment Grants provide annual funding to help Massachusetts municipalities maintain and grow state-designated Cultural Districts. This programme can strengthen exhibitions, creative placemaking, neighbourhood design, artist-led public installations, accessible cultural programming and the visibility of local art communities. It is not a competition for an individual digital artist or a portable personal fellowship: the intended applicant is the eligible cultural district via its municipal management arrangement. The key restriction: existing state designation Only Cultural Districts formally designated by the State of Massachusetts before 31 March 2026 are eligible for the FY27 round. Applicants should first check the official list of eligible districts; an arts group or a city without a recognised district does not qualify just because it wants to start an initiative. The fiscal contract goes to the municipality or its designated representative, and the district's management team guides the expenditure. As a result, foreign institutions and unaffiliated individuals cannot submit this grant independently. A fixed $15,000 award with no matching requirement The programme states a $15,000 grant amount for each successful eligible district with no required matching funds. This can fund activities aligned with cultural-district goals, such as promotion of public art, artists' and vendors' fees, creative placemaking, community engagement and improved programme access. The precise permitted spending and reporting terms must follow the FY27 guidelines, not be guessed from older awards. The funding period is one year, ending 30 June 2027, and the award is paid through the applicable municipality's agreement. Deadline and application mechanics The FY27 application window opened 23 September 2026 and closes 17 November 2026 at 11:59 p.m. US Eastern time. Award notices are scheduled for December 2026. Applications are completed in the Mass Cultural Council grants-management system after confirming district eligibility and establishing or checking a system account. An annual report is due by 15 July 2027. Administrative staff should prepare a concise narrative of district priorities, planned uses and community impact rather than submitting an individual artist's portfolio in place of the district's application. What this means for visual and digital creators Although artists cannot apply on their own, public art practitioners, designers and interactive-media teams may benefit when an eligible district chooses to commission artwork or support a local programme. A local district might commission projection, illustration, wayfinding, participatory installation or cultural mapping where consistent with the grant's purposes. The grant should not be described as guaranteeing specific visual commissions: each district controls its own spending and any subsequent artist procurement is a separate process. About Mass Cultural Council Mass Cultural Council is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts public agency supporting arts, humanities and cultural communities. It manages a system of Cultural District designation and annual grants for local municipalities. The FY27 guidelines require appropriate reporting and acknowledgment of agency support and identify Timothea Pham as the programme officer. The official information and application system should be used for fiscal documents and organisational details. - Pictoplasma Berlin 2027: Free International Character Animation and Music Video Call, January 11
Character-centred international call Pictoplasma is accepting character-driven animated shorts, music videos and experimental moving-image work from around the world for its 23rd Berlin edition in 2027. Narrative, non-narrative, commissioned and student-made animation can all be considered. Unlike a general short-film festival, Pictoplasma's selection places particular importance on original, high-quality character design, character-led storytelling, visual language and world-building. The festival and conference are scheduled for 29 April–2 May 2027. Entry fee, deadline and format Submissions made through the organiser's own animation page are free and must be received by 11 January 2027. The typical length of works appearing in its official selection is described as approximately one to fifteen minutes; that description should not be turned into a strict technical maximum for every submission. Creators should prepare a Full HD QuickTime video encoded with ProRes 422 HQ or H.264 and provide a download link using the instructions in the linked entry form. How AI-assisted works are judged The organiser cautions that work generated entirely or in significant part by generative AI tools will most likely not be considered by its human jury. This is a strong curatorial warning, not precisely the same as a categorical ban on any minor AI-assisted step. Artists should foreground their individual character-design contribution, ensure they own or have permission to use all footage, sound and music, and verify the documentation required by the entry form. Organiser and the Berlin festival Established in 2004, Pictoplasma connects character designers, animators, illustrators and visual storytellers through conferences, exhibitions, screenings and related events. The Berlin programme hosts talks and meetings with international creative-industry professionals; past conferences have brought together more than 900 participants, according to the organiser. Free submission does not imply free conference access, travel reimbursement or guaranteed prize money. Official call and submission form: https://conference.pictoplasma.com/animation/ .
