- IAAP World Cup 2026: Free Global Photography Entries Close 27 October
The International Association of Art Photographers (IAAP) is accepting worldwide entries to its IAAP World Cup photographic contest, with a closing date of 27 October 2026. Entry is free for both amateur and professional photographers. The programme focuses on photographic images in two sections, Open Color and Open Monochrome, rather than illustration, AI painting or digital compositing. The judging date is 8 November 2026, entrants are scheduled to receive notifications on 15 November, and the public gallery is planned for 13 December 2026. Who may enter and what work is accepted? The organiser says the competition is open to all nationalities and to amateurs or professionals, subject to standard acceptance and originality rules. The two categories are Open Color, which accepts colour photographs, and Open Monochrome, which is limited to black and white or consistently single-toned images. The published IAAP monochrome definition says an image with added partial colour no longer qualifies for the monochrome class. Artists should not submit a digitally painted work as though it had originated through a physical or digital photographic capture. No entry fee and practical checklist Deadline: Tuesday 27 October 2026, per the competition's official calendar. Entry price: free of charge; the IAAP rules expressly state that no fee is required. Open Color: photographs using colour, following the official upload specifications. Open Monochrome: black-and-white photographs, including fully single-hue toned work, but not selective colour edits. The image must originate in photographic capture by its submitting creator and comply with the organiser's definitions. Read the live image-size, file-format and personal-information rules before pressing submit. Awards, judging and notification The published prize list announces one IAAP Gold Medal, one Silver Medal, one Bronze Medal and three IAAP Diplomas, six awards in total; the association reserves discretion to adjust the award count in response to the number of entrants. No fixed cash award is described in the verified official list. The jury comprises photographers identified publicly by the organiser, and judging is set for 8 November with notifications expected 15 November. The public exhibition gallery and delivery are scheduled for 13 December 2026. Privacy and licensing caution The rules make clear that a person's full name, country, entered sections and participation status may be made public, and photographs selected by the contest may be presented in the gallery or related publication. Photography applicants should read exactly what rights they grant to IAAP and its partners before uploading images containing recognisable subjects. All images should be their own photographic work; retain original captures and model or location permissions where applicable. Who operates the contest? The contest is run by the International Association of Art Photographers with its contact office named in Kumanovo, North Macedonia, and a public organisers' contact email. It provides a numbered IAAP recognition reference and an archive of past gallery material. The contest has a published calendar, named judges and downloadable entry criteria, allowing participants to check the invitation independently. A medal or certificate is distinct from a cash scholarship or travel award. - Game Developers Choice Awards 2027: Free Game Submissions Open Until November 1
The 27th annual Game Developers Choice Awards (GDCA) has announced a major change for its 2027 edition: developers and publishers can submit their games directly for the industry's peer-reviewed awards. Previously, nominations relied on a specialist invitation-only committee. This new submission route is free. Eligible teams should act quickly, because the official platform closes on Sunday, 1 November 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. The ceremony is scheduled for 2 March 2027 during GDC Festival of Gaming in San Francisco. What games may enter? The 2027 competition focuses on games released for PC or console during calendar 2026, including eligible titles launched between 1 January and 31 December 2026. Indie studios, established developers and publishers can all submit qualifying games. If your project is unfinished or only has a playable demo, do not assume it qualifies: follow the current title-release and availability requirements of the official online form. Mobile-only or experimental non-game art projects should verify whether the available categories explicitly include them. Deadline, cost and nomination format Application deadline: 1 November 2026 at 11:59 p.m., US Pacific Time. Entry cost: free, as confirmed by the official Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony information. Awards ceremony: Tuesday 2 March 2027, San Francisco. Submissions are reviewed and played by an industry jury; sending an entry is not an automatic nomination. Why this edition matters for independent studios Direct submission allows smaller studios that previously relied on outside recognition to present their own release to the jurors. Teams should provide the definitive game title, release platforms and dates, credited studio/developer information, representative screenshots, a succinct description of their creative or technical contribution and accessible links or keys as requested by the portal. Keep a record of the exact version submitted and ensure the jury can play it. Awards and realistic benefits Game Developers Choice Awards celebrate achievements in design, audiovisual craft, innovation and games overall. The 2027 category structure includes changes recognising development and launch accomplishments. Honours can increase visibility among developers and publishing partners, but this is a professional award, not an automatic funding grant. No cash prize for every shortlisted team is advertised; do not build a project budget around an assumed award. Organiser credibility GDCA is a long-running, game-industry-voted awards programme associated with the annual GDC gathering. Its organisers publish past winners, judging information and the official ceremony programme. For the 2027 edition, the application portal clearly displays a live entry deadline in Pacific Time, which is more reliable than reposts converting time zones imprecisely. - London Games Festival Official Selection 2027: Free Indie Game Applications, £499 Fee If Selected
London Games Festival 2027 is accepting upcoming games from developers in the UK and around the world for its Official Selection. A curated group of titles will receive visibility through the festival's physical showcase, online channels and Steam promotions. Applications are free and close on Monday 11 January 2027 at 23:59 GMT. However, the free submission is not the full participation cost: successful games must pay a £499 plus VAT accreditation fee. Developers should understand that difference before applying. What is the opportunity? The Official Selection is a competitive showcase of upcoming games, rather than a direct cash grant. Curators seek original, engaging titles across platforms and genres, from independent projects to selected publisher releases. Accepted games are expected to appear at New Game Plus, the public-facing festival showcase, on 16–17 April 2027 in London. Selected titles may also feature in festival publicity, industry programming and the associated Steam campaign. Deadline, demo and financial conditions Application deadline: 11 January 2027, 23:59 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Submission for consideration: free of charge. Accreditation required if selected: £499 plus UK VAT for a successful game. A playable demo must be available by February 2027, not merely promised for the event. Selected studios are expected to attend and exhibit at New Game Plus on 16–17 April 2027. Preparing an application The application asks for studio identity, information about the game and its development, a plan for participating in the festival and supporting media or relevant playable links. Games from the same company can be submitted separately, but the festival says it normally admits no more than one title from a single company. Larger publishers with high annual unit sales are encouraged to discuss partnership opportunities rather than assume the ordinary indie route is optimal. Other costs and visibility The £499 fee is only an accreditation fee for selected games; travel, accommodation, freight, staff time, showcase build and any separate marketing may add to the final budget. Applying does not guarantee a selection or sales performance. Small teams should budget for the two-day public demo, consider legal permissions to publicly display music and screenshots, and plan language/accessibility options for an international player audience. The organiser Games London is the organisation behind London Games Festival, which runs a multi-day programme of exhibition, industry networking and support for UK and international games businesses. The 2027 programme is scheduled for 12–19 April, and the official application page publishes requirements, participation fees and exact deadlines in one place. - London Games Festival Games Finance Market 2027: Studio Pitches to Publishers and Investors
The Games Finance Market, part of London Games Festival 2027, is accepting applications from games studios that want to pitch projects to publishers, investors and potential business partners. This is a curated investment and publishing matchmaking programme scheduled for 15–16 April 2027 in London. Applications are free and close on Friday 8 January 2027 at 23:59 GMT. A successful application does not itself grant money: selected studios may choose to purchase attendance for £279 plus VAT. What developers actually receive Games London reviews submitted studios and projects before selecting participants. Accepted studios can use a managed online meeting platform to indicate preferred publishers and investors, after which the organiser builds a schedule of some appointments. The ticket also grants access to the market keynote, two days of meetings, meals and drinks listed by the host, and broader festival industry talks and the New Game Plus showcase. This is an introduction to possible deal partners, not a promise that any publisher will invest. Free application, paid market ticket Application deadline: 8 January 2027, 23:59 UK GMT. Initial studio application: free; no purchase is required merely to be considered. Optional market ticket for selected studios: £279 plus UK VAT. One ticket covers up to two company representatives and the two-day market programme. The festival explicitly says that applying does not guarantee acceptance and does not obligate the studio to buy a ticket. Who should apply? The strongest fit is a studio that has a developed games project and a clear commercial need for investment, publishing, distribution or a strategic partner. Applicants should be ready to explain their team's record, project status, target platforms, production budget, milestone plan, audience, commercial model and what kind of deal they want. A project teaser, playable demonstration, pitch deck or business summary may help assess potential, but the exact document requests depend on the live form. Selection and disclosure issues The official entry materials state that confidential documents submitted for assessment are for the selection team's internal use and are not automatically shared with other participants. Nonetheless, studios should avoid casually publishing trade secrets in promotional text, and should clarify what they are willing to disclose in later partner meetings. If accepted, meeting preferences are considered but the number or quality of introductions is not guaranteed. About Games London Games London coordinates London Games Festival, a multi-day programme from 12 to 19 April 2027 linking game makers, industry partners, investors and the public. The Games Finance Market is its business-focused strand, distinct from the Official Selection consumer showcase. Applying for one does not mean automatically entering the other; deadlines and fees also differ. - US International Poster Biennial 2027: Motion Posters and Global Digital Design Entries
The United States International Poster Biennial (USIPB) has opened its 2027 competition to designers, illustrators, artists, photographers and visual-communication students worldwide. Its categories include social and cultural posters as well as a dedicated Motion category for animated poster design. Entries opened on 1 August 2026 and close on 28 February 2027. Participants may submit original work created between 5 May 2025 and 28 February 2027. Five entry categories and the digital-art opportunity A – Social: posters addressing human experiences and social challenges, with professional and student groups. B – Cultural: projects exploring arts, identities, heritage and cultural exchange. C – Motion: time-based posters using animation, typography, sound and other dynamic elements. D – Chicago 190: design interpretations of Chicago's 190-year history and cultural landscape. E – LA United Through Sports: posters exploring community, sports and cultural connection in Los Angeles. For the Motion category, an animated version must be uploaded through Artivive and the entrant must supply a publicly accessible video link inside the title field of the submission form. A still JPG is also required. Do not assume that uploading a video by itself replaces the separate still-image submission. Image file rules The official instructions require a vertical JPG file of exactly 700 by 1,000 pixels, RGB colour, 72 dpi and no larger than 2,000 KB. Creators may submit more than one entry; the organiser does not state a numerical cap. If a poster is selected, the author must supply a high-resolution 24 by 36 inch vertical exhibition file. Motion designers should test their animation URL in a private browsing session before submission to prevent broken jury links. Judging, exhibitions and fees Gold, Silver and Bronze distinctions are awarded in each category. Selected works will be displayed in exhibitions and featured as full-page designs in the USIPB catalogue. The publicly checked competition overview does not confirm a guaranteed cash prize for the Motion category, so entrants should treat these as recognition and exposure benefits rather than promised grant funding. Confirm any registration or upload fees at the official live submission page before sending work. Artificial intelligence and authorship The organiser allows dialogue around AI as a tool in the design process while emphasising human authorship, contextual intention and a jury's assessment of artistic quality. It does not equate automated output with a guaranteed eligible entry. Keep documentation of original design decisions and ensure rights to all photographic, typographic and motion elements; do not use third-party visual material without permission. The organiser and international visibility USIPB is a biennial event dedicated to poster design in the United States. The current edition is endorsed by the International Biennales Coordinating Committee, and its website explains its jury, categories and planned July 2027 exhibitions. This official source allows applicants to compare the entry's creative requirements with their own portfolio. Official USIPB 2027 application and full specifications: https://www.usipb.com/2027 Information verified 24 October 2026. Region: United States, worldwide entry. Deadline: 28 February 2027. - International Photography Awards IPA 2027 Opens Worldwide: $10,000 and $5,000 Top Awards
The International Photography Awards (IPA), founded in 2003, has announced on its official homepage that its 2027 competition is now open for entries. It welcomes professional, non-professional and student photographers based anywhere in the world, provided they are 18 or older. IPA recognises a broad spectrum of photographic practice, including fine art, advertising, architecture, editorial, nature, people, events and photography books. Its published award structure includes two high-profile overall honours: US$10,000 for International Photographer of the Year and US$5,000 for Discovery of the Year. Important: do not confuse 2026 and 2027 deadlines The IPA homepage specifically states that the 2027 edition is open. However, as checked on 24 October 2026, parts of the How to Enter page still display 2026 deadlines (31 January, 30 April and 30 June 2026). These are not reliable closing dates for the 2027 edition. The current 2027 submission portal should be used to confirm its actual deadline before planning or paying. We deliberately do not provide an invented 2027 cutoff. Eligibility and category selection Entrants of all nationalities may apply, but must be at least 18 years old. IPA separates professionals from non-professionals, with a student class for current part-time and full-time students of any subject. Published work, professional income or membership of a photographic association can affect the professional classification; applicants should read the live rules before selecting their division. A photo can be entered in multiple subject categories, but extra entries and category changes involve fees. Cash awards and opportunities International Photographer of the Year: US$10,000 top prize, selected from professional category winners. Discovery of the Year: US$5,000 top prize, selected from non-professional category winners. Professional category winners: US$1,000 each; non-professional category winners: US$500 each under the published awards structure. Selected photographs may be featured in Best of Show exhibitions, the IPA annual publication and related showcases. These are selective benefits, not guarantees for every entrant. Image files and publication rights The posted rules request JPG images in sRGB, no larger than 4 MB, with the longest side between 1,000 and 4,000 pixels. Submissions are online rather than physical prints; photographs should generally be no more than five years old. Entries must not carry visible identifying marks or signatures. Photographers retain copyright, while the organiser requests permissions for IPA-related promotion and exhibitions; review this carefully if you have existing licensing agreements. Fees: a guide, not a confirmed 2027 invoice IPA's current general fee table shows single-image entry at US$40 for professionals, US$30 for non-professionals and US$20 for students. Series of two to nine images are shown at US$65, US$55 and US$35 respectively, with additional-category discounts. Because the publicly accessible fee/deadline page still includes 2026 copy, entrants should treat these figures as indicative until their 2027 form confirms the exact payable amount. The official terms say paid entries are not normally refundable. The organiser and its track record IPA has organised worldwide photography awards since 2003 and is associated with the Lucie Foundation and Lucie photography community. Its official website maintains searchable winners, juror explanations, awards descriptions and category rules. This long, public history is useful when assessing the prestige and obligations of the opportunity. - Satyrykon 2027: Poland Opens 50th Anniversary Poster Design Competition, PLN 7,500 Prize
The Satyrykon International Exhibition in Legnica, Poland, is inviting designers, illustrators and visual artists to create the official promotional poster for its 50th anniversary edition in 2027. Unlike the exhibition's separate main art competition, this special call asks for a single event identity that may be printed and reproduced in promotional materials. The selected designer will receive PLN 7,500, and applications must arrive by 31 October 2026 at the organiser's dedicated email address. What is the brief? The poster should create a distinctive, memorable visual for the 50th International SATYRYKON Exhibition – Legnica 2027. Entrants are free to interpret the exhibition's half-century history in either a retrospective or contemporary way. Humour, provocation and social observation are welcome, reflecting the festival's long emphasis on satire, cartoons and experimental visual language. Mandatory text and entry limit The design must contain the exact Polish phrase: “50 lat Satyrykonu. Legnica 2027”. Designers should treat this wording as mandatory artwork content, not translate it inside the final poster. Every participant may email a maximum of two original designs. Application materials must be emailed to satyrykon@lck.art.pl by 31 October 2026; check the linked regulations for file format, rights transfer and identification materials. Prize and copyright implications The winning design becomes part of the official visual identity for the 2027 jubilee and receives PLN 7,500. Because it will be used for promotion, the scope of reproduction and rights licensing is a meaningful contract term. Applicants should read the official annex or ask the organiser how copyright and exclusivity will be handled before they send a design that they also intend to license commercially. Do not confuse it with the main Satyrykon 2027 competition Satyrykon is simultaneously running its long-standing International Exhibition competition, with separate categories, prizes and a later January 2027 deadline. That is not this poster commission. The special anniversary poster email deadline is 31 October 2026 and the top prize is PLN 7,500. Using the rules for the separate exhibition would risk submitting the wrong material to the wrong channel. Organisation and long history The International Satyrykon Exhibition began in 1977 and is managed through the Legnica Cultural Centre. Its archive, gallery and collections document poster designers and satirical artists from Poland and abroad. Its 2027 anniversary call is published in both English and Polish, with a dedicated downloadable regulatory attachment. - Bath Spa Studio Innovation Fund 2027: Three £10,000 Grants for Immersive Audio Partnerships
The Studio at Bath Spa University has opened its 2027 Studio Innovation Fund in partnership with the Immersive Audio Network. Three successful collaborations will each receive a £10,000 project grant plus structured development support. Applications close on Sunday 15 November 2026 at 23:55 UK time. This is a region-linked partnership opportunity: it is not a worldwide individual artist award. Who can apply? Every application must involve a current Resident of The Studio at Bath Spa University working with one or more external partners. Eligible collaborators include freelancers, businesses, social enterprises and third-sector organisations, but at least one partnership member must be based in Bath & North East Somerset, and proposed activity must take place in that area or the surrounding region. A Studio Resident can join more than one application but only one successful project per Resident may receive funding. What counts as immersive audio? The programme's core focus is spatialised sound, including binaural listening over headphones, Ambisonics, Dolby Atmos or other multi-speaker approaches. Visual experiences, interactive art and VR can be part of a project, provided the contribution is audio-led. Applicants should explain a specific social-impact goal such as accessible cultural participation, community connection, health and wellbeing, education or environmental benefit, while also building a sustainable creative partnership beyond a single exhibition. Budget and programme Three collaborations receive £10,000 each; this supports paid partner time and project delivery rather than a personal no-strings-attached prize. Each selected partnership has six hours of bespoke development support and mentoring worth up to £1,000. The project period is January–June 2027, with an induction workshop, evaluation meetings and a September 2027 sharing event. Applicants wishing to use the Immersive Audio Network's lab equipment must account for the applicable usage rates in their project budget. Selection and application The fund accepts a written online proposal or video application. The organiser plans to invite up to five teams for interview on 9 December 2026 and issue decisions by 14 December. Shortlisted teams should be ready to discuss their technical feasibility, partner contributions, realistic payments and how the work can continue sustainably. A fully finished final artwork is not required by the end of the funded period. Organiser background and verification The Studio is Bath Spa University's creative enterprise and innovation hub. The seventh Studio Innovation Fund is delivered with the Immersive Audio Network, with backing from the university's Centre for Cultural and Creative Industries and Research England support. The website publishes both the funding terms and application forms, giving prospective partners a direct route to verify eligibility. - Mamidakis Art Prize 2027: €15,000 for International Sound and Outdoor Installation Artists
The G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation in Greece has opened its international Art Prize 2027 for a new permanent outdoor sculptural or site-specific installation in Agios Nikolaos, Crete. Visual artists and artist duos worldwide may submit proposals until 30 December 2026 at 23:59 Greek local time. The award is €15,000 to the selected artist or duo, with production and installation expenses funded separately. This opportunity explicitly includes sound installations and mixed-media work, but it is not a generic online-only digital art contest. Who can apply and which media fit? The official call accepts Greek and international visual artists working with sculpture, installation, sound installation, mixed media, land art and environmentally informed practices. Digital and interactive artists should propose a physically realised, durable outdoor work that responds to the specific site; a screen-only portfolio or a temporary projection without a feasible permanent installation concept would not satisfy the stated purpose. Individuals and two-person artistic duos are welcome. Duos share the prize and production allocation. Award and production terms €15,000 award to the winning proposal, normally paid in instalments subject to the organiser's delivery and invoicing terms. The foundation separately covers agreed construction, production, transport and installation costs; the prize amount is not an all-inclusive production ceiling. Return travel to Crete and a defined onsite research visit including lodging and meals are supported for the selected artist. The completed work becomes part of the foundation's permanent art collection and is unveiled publicly in June 2027. Application requirements and limitations Applicants must select one of three designated outdoor sites and use the dimensions, photographs and contextual information in the organiser's official briefing. The proposal should explain artistic intent, audience experience, connection to place, long-term maintenance, weather resistance, public safety and realistic technical specifications. Selected shortlisted artists may be asked for a detailed production budget later. Entries are submitted in Greek or English through the foundation's online form, not by emailing materials informally. Applications close on Wednesday 30 December 2026 at 23:59 Greece time. Production is planned for February–May 2027, with a public ceremony in June. An independent listing describes the application as free, but because the foundation's published summary does not state an explicit payment policy, check the live official form before assuming there is no fee. About the foundation and its programme The Georgios and Aristea Mamidakis Foundation has supported contemporary culture and public art in Crete for decades and established its annual Art Prize in 2019. Prior award projects have entered its collection and public outdoor displays. This track record, plus the official site plans and funding detail, lets artists check the opportunity against the permanent-installation commitment before applying. - FilmGate Interactive 13 Miami 2027: Worldwide VR, AR, AI Art and Immersive Works Open Call
FilmGate Interactive 13 is accepting international projects for its 19–24 March 2027 festival in Miami and Miami Beach. Presented by FilmGate Miami, the event features interactive and immersive storytelling in museums, public spaces and partner venues. Eligible work ranges from VR, AR and mixed reality to games, interactive documentary, dome environments, generative and AI-based media, sound installations and responsive public art. The regular submission deadline is 20 December 2026; a later-entry route remains open until 18 January 2027. Which projects are eligible? The official call seeks fiction and nonfiction projects that are interactive, immersive or genuinely multiplatform; a conventional film is not automatically suitable unless submitted to an appropriate specific film category. There is no published nationality restriction and projects of all lengths are considered. Non-English works must arrive with English subtitles—not simply a separate dialogue list. Works-in-progress must be finished before exhibition. Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality experiences. Interactive and multimedia installations, public immersive works and dome environments. Games, applications, interactive shorts, features and documentaries. - NOVA Games Foundation 2027: $100,000 Fellows Grants for Graduates of 13 Partner Universities
The NOVA Games Foundation has announced its first NOVA Fellows Program for emerging game creators, with applications scheduled from 7 December 2026 through 10 January 2027. Each selected Fellow receives US$100,000 of philanthropic project funding, along with mentoring and professional visibility. This is not an unrestricted worldwide competition: eligibility is tied to a bachelor's or master's degree from a designated game-related programme at one of NOVA's 13 partner universities. Who qualifies for the inaugural 2027 round? Applicants must have graduated, or expect to graduate, between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2027 from an eligible programme. The official university list includes Abertay, Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Center, Cnam-Enjmin, DigiPen's Redmond campus, NYU Game Center, RMIT, Sheridan, TH Köln Cologne Game Lab, U-tad, University of Central Florida, USC, University of Utah and Uppsala University. Not every degree offered by these universities qualifies: applicants must use NOVA's programme-by-programme eligibility checker. The application must be made by an individual who will lead development of an original new game. Projects that are already underway, including an existing student prototype, are not eligible under the foundation's FAQ. Applicants may choose one idea and may not file multiple submissions. Funding, rights and selection The initial US$100,000 is a non-dilutive grant, disbursed against agreed development milestones rather than paid as an unconditional upfront prize. NOVA takes no ownership, equity or revenue share, and creators retain their intellectual property and creative control. Fellows who later demonstrate exceptional progress may apply for a separate US$500,000 Luminary Grant; this additional amount is not guaranteed. After the 10 January deadline, NOVA plans to identify 50 finalists in February and announce Fellows by the end of March 2027. Grant-supported work typically runs for 6–12 months, moving from original concept toward a playable prototype. Documents to prepare An 8–10-page original game concept with a distinctive artistic or cultural vision. An execution plan outlining the prototype timeline and considered use of the grant. A faculty recommendation addressing the applicant's creative abilities. A 2–3-minute personal statement video and a link to their portfolio. Why the organiser is notable The NOVA Games Foundation is a newly established independent nonprofit founded by game industry figures Mark Cerny and Geoff Keighley. Its goal is to support games as a creative and cultural medium, not merely back commercial pitches. The 13-university requirement, published graduation window and explicit intellectual-property terms are essential checks for anyone evaluating this opportunity.
